Note

[edit]

Please do not wrongly claim copyright to photos you do not own. Merely finding a photo of a celebrity online is not good enough. DS 23:14, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I meant to say it was fair use.--Lorrainier 00:16, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

vandal pages

[edit]

You should list them together in one big MFD and not do speedy tags. It's better. Anomo 02:39, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay.--Lorrainier 15:37, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yelling

[edit]

Kindly do not post in all-caps, as you did in a post made at the Counter-Vandalism Unit delete review. Such is considered yelling and is generally looked upon as poor etiquette, especially when combined with boldface and italicized text. While I understand your desire to point out the fact that the user is/was a vandal, that fact was already immenently clear. The vandals who have been contributing to this discussion have typically made their vandal status known, including one who confirmed the exact reason a number of us have for supporting the deletion of the CVU page. --Carl (talk|contribs) 17:44, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was probably not the best thing for me to do. When I read the text, I didn't see that the poster mentioned that he was a vandal and wanted to make it clear, but you're right, yelling isn't the best route to take.--Lorrainier 18:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the CVU

[edit]

Please refrain from unilaterally reverting and redirecting pages associated with the CVU against consensus. Doing so is highly disruptive. Thanks. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:59, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let it be on record that I am highly disturbed by your opposition to the CVU. Quite honestly, Lorrainier, have we gotten to a point where we are ashamed of getting rid of vandal entries and try to make Wikipedia a better, higher quality place to get information? I respect the fact that you took a position, but I am disturbed as to which side you took. Arbiteroftruth 08:04, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, we've got to a point where we are ashamed of putting vandals up on pedestals and treating them like more than they are, which is basically what the CVU page, the vandal subpages, and other things did for them. The page Wikipedia:Cleaning up vandalism contains everything that the CVU page does. The only difference is that it treats cleaning up vandalism as just that: cleaning up vandalism, not some glorious holy war. If you're afraid of the CVU being disbanded or think that's what I want, then you shouldn't worry. I don't want them disbanded, I just want them to present themselves as vandal reverters and not religious warriors.--Lorrainier 08:12, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about Bulish thing...

[edit]

I'm still getting used to reporting this stuff on Wikipedia... --BLuToRsE 02:17, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of WP:ROBINSTINE

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on WP:ROBINSTINE, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because WP:ROBINSTINE is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting WP:ROBINSTINE, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
