Final Draft Getting Added Into Original Wiki PAge

[edit]

Products Alongside the activity trackers, Fitbit offers a website and mobile app for iOS and Android.[1] The trackers can be synced to smart devices via Bluetooth or uploaded to a computer using the USB dongle, which is predominantly used to charge the Fitbit trackers. The smart scale Fitbit Aria can also be synced to the app, letting users have their weight and BMI right on their phone.[2] On the app, users can set their fitness goals and the will be recommended daily calorie intake to ensure those goals. Users can enter their calorie and water intake to keep themselves on track. Once the activity tracker is synced, users can view their day's steps, miles walked, calories burned, minutes active and even their sleeping pattern. Calories in versus calories out is more accurately measured when app users keep their tracker on. However, the app can be used without a tracker to measure calories on a lifestyle app.[3]The app offers a community page where users can challenge themselves by competing with their fellow Fitbit tracking friends. The social aspect is meant to drive motivation, finding that users take an average of 700 more steps per day when they have friends on the app.[4] Users can choose to share (or keep private) their progress pictures and achievement badges.

Health Benefits Studies have shown the use of lifestyle apps demonstrate promising results in promoting healthy living in adults, although further research would still need to be done.[5]

Recall In April 2017, a woman claimed her fitbit malfunctioned and caught on fire, causing second-degree burns on her arm.[6] Following an investigation, Fitbit is adamant the cause of the exploding tracker was due to external forces, assuring their customers they are not aware of any other compaints and they can confidently wear their own Fitbit with no concerns. PEER EDIT REVIEW - Joey

[edit]
I think you have a very good start to this article! there has not been any sign or detection of a biased stance. It is very apparent that you are just strictly discussing what the Fitbit is, and how to use it. Almsot as if it were an instruction manual .

-- However, I would focus more on the sources where you got his info from. I think it would benefit you and your grade if you tied your info back into the source materiel more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jvichio (talkcontribs) 15:14, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Edit

This is a really good draft! It sounded very professional and lacked bias, which is great. The explanation of the product didn't encourage people to buy Fitbit, you just simply stated what it's about. I would maybe change the too in this sentence to an also, "The smart scale can too be synced to the app..." to make it flow better. Other than that, awesome job adding in your citations! Keep up the good work! Soriaj295 (talk) 15:30, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
