Fellow OCDer here!

[edit]

I notice you have the OCD user box on your page! I have OCD too, and have discovered ways to make use of it instead of "suffering from" it.

There's an old bit of "folk knowledge", which has been around for as long as OCD has been recognised, which goes something along the lines of: "If you have a job that needs to be done, a repetitive, perfectionist, constantly-recurring job, and you want it to be done so well that if it had been "cleaning the pavement" you could subsequently have eaten your dinner off that pavement - then you need to get an obsessive-compulsive doing it!" Here in Wikipedia we have quite a few ongoing, repetitive tasks, which are simply crying out for someone with the special talents of OCD. If you'd be interested in being pointed towards them and helping out, do please drop a note onto my talk page, and I'd be delighted to introduce you to them. Cheers! Namaste Lord British

[edit]

Nice to meet another UK geek. There was me thinking I was the only one left on this planet. In 1994 I was told by a shrink that I probably have asperger's syndrome, plus OCD and ADD - thank God for the OCD and ADD - I made a good living on the backs of them - now I'm retired so I can give wikipedia some of my OCD and ADD to be getting on with - first I'm trying to improve the article 'County surveyor' as I was one for 50 years - whilst overcoming the urge to throttle the senior editors that keep putting flags up criticising my every word DadrianT,EsqMCIHT (talk) 14:15, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford College Endowments

[edit]

The numbers you have added look to me like total accounting assets rather than endowment funds; this is certainly true for the college I know best. That may well be a more relevant figure, but it's not what the table says it is. Regards, Jonathan A Jones (talk) 16:37, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's not true for Brasenose College, and from the size of the changes involved I suspect it's not true for the rest. The 2009/10 figure of £82,867,000 is taken from the Endwoment Assets line of [1], not from the total assets line which is £111,873,000. By contrast for 1011/12 your figure of £110,764,000 is taken from the nett total assets line of [2], not the endowment funds line of £90,202,000. Trust me, I would know if the college were actually £28 million richer over two years. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 17:42, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have just changed them - thanks. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 17:44, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help.
