Nice work on the beaconhills article thanks for adding references! Keep it up Crested Penguin 04:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Loopla: It looks like you've put loads of work into this article, but there's a problem! Most of the history section is lifted nearly word for word (with just a few sentences removed) from here! You need to rewrite this section in your own words to avoid a copyright violation; see WP:COPY if you have any questions. You've done so much good work, I'd hate to see the article removed for a copyvio!! MeegsC | Talk 23:08, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Crest2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Crest2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 11:19, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

St Joseph's College crest

Hi there Loopla, Loving the work you've been doing with some high schools recently - just wondering about the St Joseph's one though. I can tell you with complete confidence that the crest is always displayed on a purple shield (as per the crest you replaced). The new crests you've put in for some schools are great, but I think that this is an exception. Any thoughts?

Cheers, Rob Lindsey 07:52, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

No worries, but yes, the purple is definitely part of the official crest (and described on the website as such). I do agree though that the crest could be a little bit better, but only in one respect: the crest you replaced had a dark blue background around the shield which ideally should not be there. Don't worry about it, I can replace it myself right now (should only take a few minutes), and I'll let you know when the new version is up. Rob Lindsey 08:09, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Done

Ok, I've put up a new version of the St Joseph's crest, minus the navy blue background. Ideally, there should be both the school title above the shield, and the motto below (your version did admittedly include the motto). However, I can't locate such a version at the moment, and I think that this version is much more appropriate than the previous two versions.

Anyway, feel free to make those changes to the ACC page now. Thanks for your understanding! Rob Lindsey 08:49, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually, decided I may as well make the changes myself - didn't take long! Rob Lindsey 08:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Family history

Gidday, cobber! Occasionally I look at the top of my watchlist, and generally investigate any edits to Dunedin subjects. Doubtless the tinkering with the OBHS motto is a standardising move! Ah, school days...

With your mixed ancestry and a declared interest in it, you would feel quite at home on the Genealogy Wikia, which uses MediaWiki software and has a friendly group of active contributors, including several from Australasia. No objection to eyeliner!!

Re: Lowther Hall Article

Though I understand your sceptisism, at the prospect of a girl's school referring to themselves as male, Lowther Hall's school hymn, "He Who Would Valient Be" would suggest the possibility that there is, in fact, some confusion surrounding the reference to gender in their school songs. For instance, the lyrics: "Let HIM in constancy", "HIS first avowed intent" and "Shall make HIM once relent" no doubt prove your observations wrong. The students at Lowther Hall are no doubt very confused about their Gender and I believe that changing their school song to "Boys of Lowther Hall" would prove an effective solution to this confusion, I apologise for looking out for those poor gender confused souls.

Category additions

Hi, i've noticed that you've gone and added a number of private schools articles into the category schools in western australia. While its a nice thought, this is totally unnecessary. Private Schools in Western Australia is a nested category of Schools in Western Australia, thus negating the need for it to be in both considering the nesting. I have reverted the changes to articles on my watchlist, and I would seriously appreciate you checking all the articles you have changed and reverting this category accordingly. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me via my talk page. Cheers, Thewinchester (talk) 12:12, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Nazareth College

Please do not indiscrimantely revert the Nazareth College to previous edits which take the page further from the style established by the really good Australian school articles like Caufield Grammar School. If you would like to discuss further please post on the Nazareth discussion page.

I wasn't trying to imply that you shouldn't edit the page, infact it does need some work. But I felt that you revert lessened the quality of the page, so I brought that to you attention. I'm sorry if I offended you in some manner.

St Stanislaus' College

Hi Both articles were identical. I don't know when they became identical, but they were. The appropriate action is to propose a merge, but as they were identical, down to the same incorrect capitalisation of section headings, the appropriate action is to turn one into a redirect. It almost doesn't matter which.

On the toolbar at the top of the edit page, is a button with #R on it. That button creates the correct syntax around selected text to turn a page into a redirect. See WP:REDIRECT for more information. Garrie 05:42, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

St Andrew's Cathedral School Crest

Hi Loopla,

The reason I reverted was because if I remember correctly, the word "St Andrew's Cathedral School" and "Founded 1885" is part of the school crest.

I am an old boy of that school and I remember I saw a document regarding the use of school crest must contain both the "St Andrew's Cathedral School" and "Founded 1885", because they are part of it. I couldn't find that document now. But if you look at all the school newsletter, website it published, you will see all the crest have both the words "St Andrew's Cathedral School" and "Founded 1885" on it.

I am very new to wikipedia, so if you think your one is better, feel free to revert it back.

Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:43, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
