Snippet Article

[edit]

Hi Loop! You are most welcome and I do hope you will enjoy being a Wikipedian! I did some work on the references in your article. Initially they weren't showing up so I added a reference section and a reflist tag. If your inline citations are done right, they will automatically show up where you have placed the reflist tag. Only three references showed up after that but they weren't properly formatted. So... I hope you don't mind but I repaired them and tried to put the rest of the links in your article into reference format. I used the simplest inline citation method - the rest are too complicated and never seem to work consistently. At least now you have an example. Please check to make sure all the links work now and also feel free to continue to edit the article and to change anything I have done that you aren't happy about. Hopefully, some of it will be helpful to you. Some reviewers will tell you that you can't have too many external links because Wikipedia does have a policy about that. So you may want to review the lists I have created under "General References" and "External Links" and if any of them are just duplicates of references you have already used delete them. If I can be of any further help, contact me at my talk page. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! --Snowysusan (talk) 10:40, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Policy and/or Technical Issues

[edit]

Hi Loop. I'm afraid talking to me won't do much good - I am just a user, like you. Since Wikipedia is a community, all decisions are made by concensus after discussions are held. Therefore, your best bet, depending on the type of issue, would be to start a discussion on the appropriate page. The easiest way to access the various Discussion pages is to go to the Village Pump page. Once you are there, you can click on the appropriate tab to access the discussion pages for Policy, Ideas, Technical Issues, Proposals, and miscellaneous issues. Once you decide where you want to hold the discussion, just click on the "New Section" tab at the top of that page, enter your subject in the subject/headline box, and fire away! You should probably also click the "watch" tab of whatever page you start your discussion on so you will be notified when anyone comments on that page. When the discussion is completed you can click "unwatch" if you don't want any further notifications about posts to that page. I hope that is of some help and you will be able to resolve the issue. If I can help further with the article, or if you would like me to look it over before you resubmit it, I would be happy to do so. Best Regards, Snowysusan (talk) 08:18, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sound advice. Thanks! Regarding your kind offer to "re-look" at my article on 'Snippet' - YES PLEASE!!! However - I have to say that I am considering instead, deleting the article and re-writing it as an article on Johnno Casson, essentially working the same facts into an article with a different title. The reason for this is that it improves the relevance and conformity to Wikipedia criteria. Would the idea of "delete/re-write" make sense to you as an option for me to try?--Loop Withers (talk) 08:37, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that makes a lot of sense. It is likely that you will find more reliable sources about the person in all his incarnations rather than only writing about Snippet. I will be happy to look at the new article if you wish when you have a draft and offer whatever help or suggestions I can. Just contact me at my talk page. Best Regards, Snowysusan (talk) 22:09, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to the third Reading Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Hope Tap, 99-105 Friar Street, Reading RG1 1EP on Sunday 20 January 2013 from 1.00 pm. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Berkshire related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. Thank you for your timely reminder, Hasteurbot. Hello Loop Withers. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Snippet (performer)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Snippet (performer)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 20:00, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
