Nigel Satterley

It might not make much sense but WP:BLP articles do require a bit more attention than what you put up, it would have been a classic candidate for the placement of the item of the new page reviewers' deposit box - that is into draft mode... Please make an effort to have look at articles of similar persons, reverse engineer, open up and see what is happening!! JarrahTree 11:46, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the reply. Should I move the article into draft mode now? How do I go about doing that? I have old research on other living people so it would be good to nail down the correct process for the future. Loomhigh (talk) 07:22, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I dont think you have much of an idea of how things work if you put up Nigel Satterley the way you did - it would be worth getting a handle on what other editors did to the article after you put it up, to understand the basics of editing. A bit of a harsh judgement perhaps - but you can relieve yourself of a lot of trouble if you have a closer look at how wikipedia works, and how biographies require care. Old research does not necessarily mean valid articles with notability, it is a case where a comparison with existing articles about other Australians might be worth the effort (that is not a guarantee that they are of any quality, rather they have existed without challenges or tags) JarrahTree 08:48, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you are right I don't know how it works. I don't mind a harsh judgement that is designed to make this site better, I need it. I remember back in my teens having a read through the process but that is too long ago to remember, I clearly need to do as you suggested, and will when I get some nice sit-down time at the library Loomhigh (talk) 02:10, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

responding to edit summary

I researched this a while ago and am using that research as a basis of this article. Some pieces of information I cannot remember the citation for, and have marked as "citation needed" until I can find where I got that info from. I have also based a lot of information on Australian Hansard, but do not know how to properly cite it. I am not an experienced researcher. This page will probably need a lot of cleanup. Changes more than welcome, let me know where gaps need to be filled. thank

The big problem is the Australian Financial Review Tim Treadgold article. JarrahTree 13:57, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
