Rip Curl[edit]

Paragraph 2 is fully referenced and has been continually deleted by user RipCurl69. I suspect that RipCurl69 is an employee of the company and does not want negative facts posted about his company. The reality, is that the paragraph is directly quoted from a published source and is valid material for a wikipedia entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Callred (talkcontribs)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mysisters'anightmare.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mysisters'anightmare.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thanks I decided not to put the obvious COI issue to the noticeboard - as I think the warning is a point to see how it is reacted to. I also have a much more complicated parallel issue inside the Indonesian project where a good contributor is feeling harrassed by a possible sign of an assessment of COI - not fully understanding the issues. Thank you for your response - so one very clear, and one very messily not clear, all i need to ruffle my bald spot! cheers SatuSuro 23:21, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LongHair, Pardon me if some of my wordings have hurted you. I am a very amateur contributor for wikipedia and first of all I am adding articles for some of my well know topics such as about my school, college, university, company etc., But the way in which you scolded me is really hurting and I felt bad, which made me angry and also to reply you like that. See what you have told to me in your msg to me "If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox", is this the way that you will speak to a stranger. Any how, let us be nice friends here after and I always welcome useful constructive feed back from you and the wiki community regarding my articles. Thanks and Regards, Anand.S

Great Walk[edit]

In fact there is a very strong link to about 4-5 as yet unwritten articles about related issues which they - like so many fellow greenies (how i hate that label) have limited retention and poor sense of adequate history and context - which I will send you an email about in a minute or two. The proof in the pudding will be the details of the unwritten articles that I will email about... sigh 09:05, 8 February 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by SatuSuro (talkcontribs)

As I have left comments at Peta's talk and at the various other locaions re this issue - please note that I am not taking issue with the main process of admin work and the COI issue - but I will go to some length to argue for inclusion of articles about conservation groups from the late 70's and early 80's (of which I was involved and lost a few years of my life to...) regardless of the difficulties in actually finding adequate defences for the V and N areas - both in Tasmania and Western Australia - as the exclusion is concomittant to the local media in both states deliberately and forcefully sustaining collective amnesia regarding the difficult issues that split both of the communities so strongly - over environmental issues.

Image of Austin Asche[edit]

You tagged this image. Probably quite rightly. However, could it be fair use on an article about the subject? It appears to be owned by the NT Government. Image licensing confusing me somewhat, as I do not upload images having no camera. --Bduke 21:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have a concern about lots of NT Law images. I'll wait to see if the user who uploaded them responds to your comments on his talk page. It does'nt add a lot to the article on Austin Asche, although getting an open source one might be difficult. He has been retired for a while. --Bduke 22:48, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if the edits this user is making to Kina (musician) are vandalism as they appear to be coherent, if badly formatted. Someone is creating re-directs to Jimmy Wales[edit]

This is the second re-direct (Why on earth wouldn't anyone protect this? that was created tonight. The other was created at 18:02 local (about 54 minutes ago). The amazing thing is the re-direct does not show against the main article. Ronbo76 02:57, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody is creating redirects. Some page-move-vandal idiot moved the Wales article to a stupid location, and the redirect was autocreated then the article was moved back again. Hesperian 03:03, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I put the same note on the article talkpage. Someone is very sophisticated as one of the moves did not show up in my Watchlist. Only when someone is probably checking what links here is the vandal moves being discovered (my guess). The other article re-direct was something like "Jimmy Wales did porn." Ronbo76 03:05, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elimination of Svetozar Radakovich[edit]

so what was it you didn't like about the addition of Svetozar Radakovich to the Encinitas Page? I attempted the redirect because the Radakovich site is acurate and well done. Did you look at the site. I'm a 4th generation native of San Diego California. I've lived in Encinitas since 1972. I'm a professional Goldsmith. I studied with Svetozar who died in 1982. I also had a TV show which aired Encinitas, called California Live, and Svetoxar was the subject of one of our shows. Where are you from? Australia? What's your interest in the history of my hometown? What's your background in the history of Encinitas and why should you be allowed to decide to eleminate this contribution?

Sorry, forgot to sign my complaint. Kyle Thomas 12:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. I'll start and edit a page. Any objections? I thought the redirect would yield a more thorough result. I was trying to save time cause it's four in the morning here. I was planning to create the page tomarrow, but thout this wauy i could get something up till then. Is the attempt to redirect to an offsite link a no-no?

Advice please[edit]

Hi I need some advice, I dropped into an exchange between to editors via WP:RFPP when one editor requested that anothers get protected to prevent the removal of a sockpuppet tag. After an initially look into events I blocked both for 1 week based on conditions placed against during this arbcom case. User:TDC had placed the sockpuppet tag based on this check user which caused the dispute. From this and based on TDC comments I changed the block on Xenophrenic to indefinate as per the WP:SOCK policy. I also lifted the block on TDC as it appeared to be a reasonable action in the circumstance to place the tag and revert its removal. User:Xenophrenic contacted me by email claiming not to be the person involved in the arbcom case and also highlighted that the case was actually 12 months old and that its conditions no longer applied, could I remove the block. This started me reinvestigating the whole situation. What I've found is that the arbcom case was against a range of proxy IP addresses from an ISP. Also when I look through the various discussion TDC appears to violate WP:CIVIL and WP:OWN even during the arbcom case it was shonw that the problem had reached a compromise except for TDC insistance the abrcom case should have been closed as resolved without any further discussion . Xenpophrenic account was created over 12 months after the Arbcom case commense and only days before the expiry of the parole period as such it wouldnt offer any advantages to circumvent the arbcom decision. For now I've got an undertaking from Xenophrenic to refrain from editing articles where TDC is also editing, also accepted that if he recieves any warnings the block would be reinstated without further discussions. Xenophrenic would rather work to clear this name than create a new account which to me indicates that Xenophrenic isnt that same person.

take all the time you need, and thanks Gnangarra 09:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Err I'm sorry, since when is the {{subst:test3}} a final warning? Moreover, if you look at the history of the page vandalized [1], you'll see it's likely a coordinated attack on the page with 203.94.130.54 (talk · contribs) who may or may not be the same vandal, I issued a third level warning (which I thought wasn't a final warning) because I assumed they weren't the same and wanted to give them some room for improvement, sorry if I did anything wrong - Myanw 08:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your kind words, I was aware of that template indeed, but I'm reluctant to use it, since I don't think every admins agrees with you on that subject when I read this [2]. I feel some admins consider that using the template after a single edit is an abuse... Well anyway, it must be my bad English which makes me percieve things the wrong way. Happy editing :-) Myanw 09:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 03:10, 22 February 2007 (UTC) [reply]

SexPanther Radio[edit]

I added a reference section in response to the tag placed on the SexPanther Radio article. Is that what you wanted me to post? Let me know if anything else is needed. -- Stingray23464 01:07 6 February 2007 (EST)
