Hi !

[edit]

Hello, i was wondering if you can answer me some questions...

  1. About the wikipedia ads template, do you know how to modify or customize it so it can show only a few desired ads? (more than just one and not all)
  2. If an image has this, then it means if i´m not IN wikipedia I require special permission -- or -- anyone (wikipedia member or not) requires special permission to use the image? If the second, then how do I get that permission?
  3. Can you tell me (if you know and you want) what is the user script or monobook or monobook.js or whatever and what is it for?
  4. How is it living in London? is it so different from the U.S.?

Cheers. - Damërung ...ÏìíÏ..._ΞΞΞ_ . --  21:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:TVCatchup Beta Screencap.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TVCatchup Beta Screencap.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:52, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Londonsista

Just a quick question, on the talk page of The Bill you said that you changed my wording of the bit about it being axed in Scotland because there were "weasel words" in it. I'm just wondering, what is meant by "weasel words"? I've never heard of that phrase before apart from when I've been tagging articles in Wikipedia and even then I've avoided it because I don't know what it means! I can assure you, my changing the wording from "enraged" to "deeply angered" was not a personal opinion, it's just that I didn't want to run the risk of being in breach of copyright by copying a huge chunk of an article, plus I thought that the News of The World stating "enraged" was a little strong so also changed it to soften the wording.

Oh also, where did you get that sign on your talk page that says to always assume good faith? It's just was looking for something similar for my talk page because I always assume good faith at first.

Finally, how's London nowadays? I ain't been down there in over a year, last time I visited it was for a friends wedding. Plan to visit it end of this year/early next year though. LOVE London! Second favourite city to Edinburgh, Scotland, which is where I currently reside! --5 albert square (talk) 22:59, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://twiki.riteme.site/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:21, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! No problem! It's something IPs don't seem to understand, unfortunately: that navigational templates are for navigation. But you now know! :) Yves (talk) 16:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
