Andrew Younger changes

[edit]

Hi there, if you believe content in an article is not correct, then please provide sources that support your changes. You left an edit summary when editing the Andrew Younger article, stating you "corrected detail". Not only did you not provide a source for your "correction", the content you claimed you were "correcting" is clearly supported by the source already in the article. We can't just change or add anything we want to articles, we have to go by what the sources say. You also did not bother to provide a source for the new paragraph of content you added, but I added a citation to prevent the new content from being removed as unsourced. Please take a minute and see WP:BLP. It doesn't matter if something is positive or negative, when dealing with the bios of living people, content must be sourced. Information icon Hello, I'm Cmr08. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Andrew Younger. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Improving references

[edit]

Hi there, I'm not trying tp pick on you or anything like that, and appreciate that you are trying to improve the Andrew Younger article by adding content and references, but some of the references you are adding are not actually references. I'm not going to touch them, but I want to just give you a heads up about how they work. The references are supposed to reference the text added. When mentioning "his role in the construction of the Dartmouth Community Centre" the reference should actually mention his role, but a reference link to the home page of the Dartmouth Community Centre, while it proves there is a Dartmouth Community Centre, it does not support the info in the article. Likewise "his work improving Shubie Park and the Shubenacadie Canal system" is referenced by the home page, and thus does not support the subjects involvement. A reference for "he was made an honourary member of the Nova Scotia Executive Council (cabinet)", should mention the fact that he was made an honourary member of the Nova Scotia Executive Council, but the source provided is the home page for Orders in Council. There are others like this as well, but I'm not going to point them all out here. If you can provide sources for the content rather than just the home page, it will go along way in making the article even better. I'm more than willing to help, I'm sure the sources are out there somewhere. Just let me know what I can look for. My only interest when it comes to this article, is the same as every other Nova Scotia MLA article, to help make them better. Cmr08 (talk) 19:33, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the guidance

[edit]

Thank you for the guidance on the links. I did link to the pages for the center. They had a page on each of those referencing Mr. Younger. I will go through and see if those pages still exist, and if so will link directly to those pages instead. Sorry for my error and I appreciate the guidance I am learning the system and had started by only watching people and how they made edits. This is helpful information to me London3001 (talk) 23:24, 26 January 2018 (UTC)London3001[reply]
