Hey I gotta question for ya

Hey

Two directors of General Hospital are Ron Cates and Ronald C. Cates but aren't they the same person? If so why are they listed twice? Y&R minor characters decision

Hey MF, I posted my new opinion about the Y&R minor characters page as Eureka Lott and others make a genuine point about preserving the article history. I changed my opinion from Delete to Redirect; List of The Young and the Restless characters needs some work but I think it would be a good idea for the destiny of the minor characters page. I just wanted to inform you that both Down and Wagner according to both the new SOD and at the end of today's episode are listed as recurring. Hey I was just wondering something cuz I saw on the Gloria Bardwell page that there were some sources from SoapsSheKnows.com and I remember reading somewhere that website wasn't allowed on Wiki. Can you let me know if this is true? Because if it is I'll remove them immediately. General Hospital and Katie

Thanks for the kind words left on my talk page.;)

However, there seem to a false information that you are editing on many articles about Katie taking to the 2:00pm timeslot. That is not the case at all. Katie is taking the 3:00pm timeslot, not the 2:00pm one.

Remember, Katie is a syndicated show that will be broadcast through local programming. It won't be a network show like The Chew and GH. It wouldn't make sense for ABC to have at 1:00pm The Chew (a network show), then have at 2:00pm Katie (a local show) and then having at 3:00pm General Hospital (a network show). ABC will always separate its network shows from its local shows. That information about Katie at 2:00pm is therefore incorrect and I didn't see it on any of the provided sources either.

Upon re-reading the article, I have to disagree with you Farine. The article makes it seem as if GMA: Afternoon is replacing The Revolution until Katie can fill its timeslot. And if it is infact true that General Hospital s moving to 2pm, then it will lose a significant amount of viewers, myself included. So the article either needs to be more clear or we await ABC's schedule, which hopefully, will be out sooner rather than later. The article is simply pointing that GMA will air at 2:00pm until Katie starts (NOT until Katie fills in the timeslot). Nowhere on the article does it say that Katie will actually air at 2:00pm.

Here what the article says.

The news ends months of speculation about what will happen to the venerable soap whose long-time 3 PM slot will be taken over by Katie Couric’s new syndicated talk show in the fall.

It couldn't be any clearer than this.

Putting Katie at 3:00pm has been ABC-Disney's plan since last year. What should it changed all of suddenly just because The Revolution has been cancelled? And why should ABC program at 1:00pm, cedes the 2:00pm timeslot to its affilates, and program again at 3:00pm, when the network can just program on the first two hours and cedes the last hour to its affiliates. Can you move the Kristina page???

I've been trying to move the Kristina Corinthos Davis article back to the title Kristina Davis, but I am not allowed. The character is mainly known as Kristina Davis, and that is how she is referenced on the show as well as the ABC website. Kelly Sullivan

There are a couple of problems here. The most glaring is the image used. Copyrighted images are almost never allowed to be used in BLPs. They almost always fail our non-free content criteria. It is almost always possible to acquire a free image of a living person. Possible doesn't necessarily equal easy. It's definitely conceivable that an editor could take a picture of her or the actress or one of her representatives could submit a picture of her. Secondly, it's never a good idea to create a WP:BLP without sources. If there aren't reliable sources discussing her she may not be notable. AniMate 01:48, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

YouTube as a reliable source

While I agree with your reversions at Delta Goodrem, I contend that YouTube can be a perfectly reliable source depending on who published the video. Many organizations use YouTube for official distribution of their original produced video content, and this includes news organizations that publish reports and interviews. Conversely, many accounts on YouTube are used for copyright violation, and its videos are uploaded illicitly and should never even be linked from Wikipedia for any reason. But just because a snippet of video content is on YouTube is no reason for it to be ignored as a reliable source, if it is properly produced and published. That's not what WP:YOUTUBE says. It says that copyright should be observed, as I mentioned before. YouTube IS NOT A SOURCE. YouTube is a publishing channel. I do enjoy working on Wikipedia articles, but had become discouraged by what I see as an increasingly bureaucratic, rule-driven approach on the part of some zealots who nominate articles for deletion and who mess up other articles with various tags, including the ones on the Alexz Johnson article. That article used to have a lot of links to sources, but many of those either got deleted in revisions, or the original sources just disappeared off the Internet. I also spent a fair bit of time getting good copyright-cleared pictures for that article (from Epitome, the production company), but most of those got deleted.

I admire people like yourself who nevertheless forge ahead and maintain a set of articles!

I've always figured "Shictor" would get together, even before their first union. And while I do believe it's disgusting, no one has ever treated Sharon like Victor has and vice versa. As for the Kyle SORAS. I was hoping they wouldn't do that, I loved the previous Kyle so much more. But because of soaps, characters are SORAS'ed after a period of time. Yeah Sharon and Victor have always had a weird vibe. What do you think of Phyllis and Nick remarrying? From what I understand they only married the first time because of Summer, and that's why Sharon's all suspicious. I was hoping "Shick" would reunite this year and they would remarry but as everyone is telling me Sharon and Nick are over for good. Fen was never a really big character until now, all I remember is like brief appearances and he was like nine. Moses is actually a common African name despite its religious origin. Fen is unique though haha. Do you know why Colin is coming back? Probably to terrorize Gen. I know the background of the name Moses, it's just such a weird name. I don't like it. No I don't know why. According to sources, he comes back in Spring on a temporary basis and then will re-appear this fall for a more storyline. MAB claims the Colin storyline never felt finished for her. Hi again, I uploaded a picture of Stacy Haiduk yesterday for her article as well as Patty's article, and now I got a message on my talk page about replaceable fair use. I saw above that you had a similar problem with one of your images, was it deleted? I don't want mine to be. I struggled to find a proper one too. Have you any advice? It says otherwise it will be deleted even if I complete the steps it listed by Thursday May 10. UGH!! So many rules! Haha :) Anyway let me know. The album hasn't charted since it's yet to be released. There is nothing said in WP:ALBUM about that. The article is cited with few reliable and relevant sources. I think the cancelling of Ringer was really the biggest mistake The CW could have ever made. Because now I won't even watch the final episodes of America's Next Top Model since I cannot support the channel. And I believe Jennifer Landon is going to be amazing as Heather Stevens. Gwen was a really mousy character when she came on, but Jen is an amazing actress and whatever year she's been nominated for a Daytime Emmy, she's won. My only hope is that MAB doesn't treat her like she did Maura West. Eden Riegel was a mis-cast on the show's part. And of course Jack will magically walk again. Twitter and/or YouTube

Social media sites can sometimes be used as sources...if they are verified accounts of the people making the statements. I have no idea if the sources the anonymous user was attempting to use were verified accounts so can't comment on whether they'd work for the Nicole Scherzinger article. From what I've been told in the past, whether it's verified or not, Twitter fails WP:V, as well as YouTube. I'm going on what I have been told. List of General Hospital cast members

I saw the comment you left at the talk page of Natalie about requesting a protection for the List of General Hospital cast members page.

FYI, the page is already protected until May 1, 2013. So it is pointless to ask protection for a page that is already protected unless you're requesting a full protection where only admininstrators will be able to edit the article.

The reason why vandal User:Classscott was able to edit the page is because he passed the requirements to become an autoconfirmed user. To become autoconfirmed, a user has to make 10 edits on Wikipedia and wait 4 days after the account is created. That's exactly what user Classscott did. He created his account on May 9 and waited on May 19 to disrupt the article.

If you have any problems with this user, just ask Daniel Case to block the account. Since we're dealing with an account instead of an IP address , Case would almost certainly blocked it indefinitely instead of temporarily.

I asked for the protection prior to it went up, I believe. And then it was put up following that. And I've never seen that user edit an article before, they seem new and kind of like a previous editor already.

In fact, that user is a Sockpuppet of a previous user so I likely will be reporting them as such. They've done this before on 3-4 different accounts. I know this because of their obsession of Lisa Niles and anyone concerning and/or connected to her. Actually, I was the one who requested for the page to be protected for a year, barely 6 days after the previous protection you had requested from AniMate had wore off.

Hey, Musicfreak. In this edit, you stated that he stopped appearing as Todd. Do you mean that he has quit the show? If so, we need to update the lead. Nathin Butler's GH status

According to Nathin Butler's very own twitter page, he has been dropped to recurring, however, I don't think I can use twitter as a source and the only other source I found is SoapCentral.com which list Butler as a recurring cast member. Nathin's Twitter isn't verified with a blue check, so we can't use that. And according to WP:SOAPS, we can't use SoapCentral.com for statuses. So while we've been told he's been dropped into recurring, until a third-party source like SOD/SID confirm it, he has to stay in the contract cast. Merge

Hey I was thinking that we could put all of the Y&R character pages from 2006 to 2009 onto the 2000s page. I think it would make more sense that way because technically the 2000s decade went from 2000 to 2009, and because the 90s and 80s pages are like that, so I was thinking we could put all of the character pages from those years onto that page And then for 2010+, we could put them on a page called List of The Young and the Restless characters (2010s). There is not enough information/sourcing to support their own pages. Nor do I have the time to dedicate to the creation of the pages. Hey I was also thinking we could move Phyllis' page to the redirect page of Phyllis Summers Newman. Because, as said, that is her legal name, and she almost entirely goes by Newman. The recast doesn't make sense, I agree. Max Ehrich isn't exactly a strong actor either and I don't feel he fits the character of Fen. If he had to be rapidly aged I would've like to see him come back as an adult because that way they could've found a stronger actor like they did with Kyle, same for Summer. And the Phyllis miscarriage scene was awfully staged. She was wearing a white dress and no blood was seen; I know it was done on purpose but if you want things to be authentic then do it right, haha! I assume by "the issue" you mean the personal attacks you raised at WP:ANI. I think the reason he didn't respond was because he thought it was settled when I put him on a final warning. Besides, he doesn't care much for editing in the Wikipedia space, and prefers to spend all of his time making maintenance edits to soap opera articles... and Led Zeppelin articles. I understand that he can be incredibly frustrating, but PJ's mind is wired a little different than ours. You may or may not know this, but he has a condition called Asperger syndrome. What seems like a normal and rational interaction to him, can be extremely off putting to others. Now, Wikipedia is not therapy, and if he proves again to be unable to coexist with the community, I will block him. He's on his last chance, and while I've been lenient this go around, the next time he crosses the line it's a return to his community ban. In the past, there has been way too much drama for someone who only edits tables and infoboxes, and I've given him WP:ROPE and it is up to him if he chooses to hang himself with it.

Now, if you choose not to discuss this with PJ on the article talk page, then you can't really tell him not to change it. You've kicked him off your talk page, which means there is no where for him to discuss this with you. If you refuse to interact with him at all, then it is best for you to un-watch all of the articles the two of you have in common. Communication is key here, and it needs to take place on the article talk pages. Not in edit summaries, but on the talk page. Please, hunt up the issue of SOD that says Monzon is a recurring character and place it on the talk page or let him make the change. AniMate 19:17, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Why should I have to be the one to avoid the articles? That's beyond unfair. I know of his condition, and I do not discuss it as that's a personal thing for him to discuss. So I do not feel comfortable discussing it. His reasoning for this actor cannot be used, Leslie Charleston was dropped to recurring and wasn't seen on-screen for nearly 10-12 months and no one ever questioned her involvement with the show, so why is this actor any different? You would have to avoid the article if you're unwilling to discuss it. Post a link to the SOD article if it's online, and if it is not post the issue and page number. That will settle this. If you aren't willing to discuss things with other editors, you can't edit here. It's a collaborative project and sometimes you have to work with people you do not get along with. PJ will not edit your talk page again without a very long, probably indefinite, block. When editing disputes arise we use article talk pages. You need to focus on the steps of WP:Dispute resolution. SID and SOD are two different things. The dates on the covers of SOD are the dates the magazine goes OFF sale. I can get why you'd be confused, but the date on the magazine is the date it goes off sale, not on sale. I think I love Traci because of her ability to bring calm and understanding to her family. She's that voice of reason and when she gets in a mood she's really strong. So I'm always happy when Traci comes around because I know the story is going to be good. Yeah I get what you mean. My favorite Newman would have to be Abby, and then Nikki. Abby is a Newman and knows how to fight like one but the good part is she has Abbott blood. And I will always hate Sharon as long as she's with Victor. 1. move the file to a better name following guidelines at WP:FMV

Kindness to new editors

Just a general note about dealing with new editors. When you see someone with less than 25 or so edits, rather than making your first communication with them a warning or criticism, try welcoming them first. The welcome template links them to a lot of resources to help them become better editors. The number of people editing Wikipedia is declining, and a big part of that is the fact that we don't make new editors feel welcome. At User_talk:Audri_Grace, all you did was leave warnings, similar to what you did above at User_talk:Musicfreak7676#sonny_.26_brenda_and_Phick_supercouple_page. Try and remember to be kind to other editors first. They are not as experienced as you and could use your guidance more than your condemnation. AniMate 04:22, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

You haven't been awful necessarily, but you have been approaching new users the way one would approach experienced users. Just leave a nice note before you leave a warning. I did read your message. No image of the new Y&R credits, all we knew from Michael Muhney is that they're coming around the fourth. And Davis Holloway, don't remember much of him. I know you must already be frowning after reading the heading , as you are receiving far too many suggestions lately. Well I have no reason to believe that the suggestors are wrong, (per AGF) but I can understand the irritation when it turns into a constant nagging. We must also not trash the opinion that the suggestors/critic might want to improve your editing. Peter Porte isn't exactly the strongest actor either. I could see better actors portraying a sociopath, but they did the best they could, I'll give them that, lol. I think Ricky "wanting to bring Phyllis down" should've come to the surface weeks ago. They should've brought Tim Reid back like beginning to mid May and wrapped it up by now. And now he's missing? I think the casting is coincidence, especially since Strong was on the original Dallas in the 1970s as a guest role.
