The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Betti-Sue Hertz, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.ybca.org/staff/betti-sue-hertz.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. If you'd like to rewrite the page, you should go to Articles for creation. This will let you work on the page in a draft instead of a "live" article. Plus, you can submit it for review so others can check if it meets Wikipedia's requirements. If you have any questions about this, please respond below with a notification. Advice

[edit]

You seem to have restarted the article, but used it to say

"I am new to wikipedia and would like to redo this page on Betti-Sue Hertz with more references and more detail about her life. Betti-Sue Hertz is an extremely accomplished and influential curator with a 30 plus year career at major US institutions. The list of the institutions where she worked overlapped with a bio online that also listed them. This can be rewritten so it doesn't infringe on any copyright violations but is hardly a reason to do a speedy deletion for this entry.
Please let me know what to do next as I want to continue with this and will be more mindful as I proceed.
Thank you. I would like feedback as I proceed."

That's not the place to ask that; so, as reviewing administrator, I copied the information here and deleted it. You are certainly welcome to rewrite the article. But it must be rewritten in your own words, and not copied or directly paraphrased from an existing website or other publication (when an article is entirely or mostly a copyvio, we must delete it, but this does not foreclose an article on the topic). As the previous notice said, the place to do this is at Articles for Creation.

When doing this, I call your attention to the 3 possible relevant standards for notability: WP:GNG, our general standard requiring references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements; WP:NAUTHOR, for notability based on her writings, which essentially requires substantial published reviews of her books, WP:PROF, for someone who can be shown to be an academically recognized authority. Unfortunately, I must advise you that museum curators even though important in their profession often do not receive the necessary sources, and it is consequently rather difficult to have them accepted here. The most likely route might be NAUTHOR. DGG ( talk ) 23:18, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
