Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Habr Awal, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 17:20, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have been warned. If you want another edit war and for the crew to sabotage the Gabiley/ Waqooyi Galbeed pages again, I suggest you stop. Or else you leave us no choice.

Warning

[edit]

The Gadabuursi pages are all being monitored. If you try and case vandalism again you will regret it. We can easily edit Waqooyi Galbeed and other pages with references and sources that show the Gadabursi population there.

Last warning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MustafaO (talkcontribs) 22:30, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MustafaO,

It seems that this particular user from your group Aqooni is back again trying to disrupt the Gabiley pages with erroneous edits. I noticed on his talk page that he's also pushing a tribalistic agenda, and insulting users who call him out on his agenda. I will stop editing the Awdal pages if you leave the Gabiley pages alone. Let's not make this nasty and resort to petty tribal insults like I noticed Aqooni using. It is clear he is not acting in good faith. 05:01, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Habr Awal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:23, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gabiley Pages

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you have tried to remove the Gadabursi presence off of every single Gabiley and Waaqoyi settlement that they have, completely disregarding the valid sources listed. If you continue to do this, I will report said actions to a moderator. Sources do not lie, and I can see why those with a certain tribal agenda try to delete those sources. You can choose to stop doing those tribalistic and false edits and pushing a false agenda. Like I said the sources speak for themselves. The Aqoon One 06:15, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

IMPORTANT

[edit]

Hello Link my fellow lander.

I need you to post a beautiful city of Gabiley picture in Gabiley page instead of a nomadic village since Gabiley is a farming city and post a better picture of rich history of Berbera in the 17th century on Habr Awal history instead of Britain because you're proving our enemies that our history started through Britain and post Imsael Ahmed on the gabiley list by copying HA figures on below and he is bahabar adan. If you do all these, I will protect all your edits that were previously edited by aqooni and other lying trolls.

Isaaq

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Isaaq appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Gabiley

[edit]

Please do not add the names of anyone, who does not have their own Wikipedia article, to any article, about any town, or other settlement, as at you did at Gabiley
This is a specific rule as stated at WP:Settlement#Notable people:-

"Names of notable people born or residing in the locality. Include only people with a Wikipedia article, see also WP:NLIST."

Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 16:57, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arjayay, thanks for the message. I've run into this before and I plan to make pages for the individuals in question on English Wikipedia. Can we please leave the information up on the Gabiley page until then?

Thank you kindly,

Linkjan2014 (talk) 22:38, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but the rule is quite specific - only re-add names after the article has been written and accepted - Thanks - Arjayay (talk) 21:01, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ahmed Hasan Awke requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.somalilandinformer.com/somaliland/somaliland-prominent-somali-journalist-ahmed-hasan-awke-passes-away-in-jigjiga/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 23:27, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Mohammed Abdillahi Kahin

[edit]

Hello, Linkjan2014,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Mohammed Abdillahi Kahin should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed Abdillahi Kahin .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Eddie891 Talk Work 00:41, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I really hope you improve the page, but keep the tag at AfD up. It will continue, and when your sources are added, it may be closed as keep, but the tag must not be removed. Eddie891 Talk Work 01:09, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image was more than four times in excess of the NFC guideline without any valid reason - I'll add the relevant section from the guideline - You also may wish to add the {{non-free no reduce}} template to the image rationale page to indicate that your image resolution purposely exceeds the 0.1 megapixels guideline, though this still requires you to include a valid rationale that explains this reasoning; large images using this template without a rationale to explain the large size may be reduced despite this. Garhajis and Habar Awal populations

[edit]

I have provided a reliable source for the population estimates of the Garhajis from expert Somali historian I.M Lewis, who based his findings on a British census of the Somaliland protectrate. The census was undertaken a mere 2-3 generations ago and puts the Garhajis population at 170,000 , Habar Yoonis being 130,000 and Ciidagle at 40,000. While Habar Awal all together make up 130,000 , Sacad Muuse being 100,000 (smaller than Habar yoonis , a sub clan of Garhajis) and Ciise Muuse being 30,000. Now unless Garhajis have been hit by an epidemic of huge proportions i doubt they number less than Habar Awal today. I have removed your edit claiming Habar Awal is the largest Isaaq sub clan due to the author not being reliable and his failure in not providing actual numbers. He just says they are the 'largest' with no backing whatsover. GeelJire (talk) 13:52, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Habar Awal page

[edit]

Brother, I respect you for what you're doing and taking care and contributing Isaaq pages but you need to understand that these are English pages and most people who are interested in Somalis will be foreigners looking into these pages so you have to keep it in English. Habar Yoonis clan tree

[edit]

The Habar Yoonis clan tree was removed in its entirety because they deemed the source i provided unreliabe , the source was the qabaayil website that listed Isaaq sub clans. I couldn't find any other "reliable" source that contained the whole Habar Yoonis clan tree , only found the Omar abdallah sub clan of tree , so i had to work with it. I'll keep searching for a book or article where i can find the whole tree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeelJire (talkcontribs) 05:02, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation against Ciise Muuse vandal

[edit]

I have opened a suckpuppet investigation against the Ciise Muuse dude who keeps vandalising the Habar Awal and Garhajis articles , looking at the HA article edit history , he has done considerable damage to the habar awal article in comparison to the Garhajis one. Here is the page where the investigation might be taking place. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/161.52.14.200

If my request is denied , please open up another investigation against him here -https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations

I have presented only 2 pieces of evdience of him vandalising with his main Isse Musse account and his I.P account

1.https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Garhajis&diff=831904314&oldid=831754648

2.https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Garhajis&diff=832532841&oldid=832502228

These are the only pieces of evidence i submitted linking the accounts. I'm sure you can find others on the Habar Awal article. btw , he is also linked to the SsaciidAfrcia account , so if you can find evidence linking him to the Isse musse or IP account , that would be awesome. This guy needs to be IP banned asap. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeelJire (talkcontribs) 04:09, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GeelJire,

Bro I reported him for vandalism as well here. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrator_intervention_against_vandalism#User-reported

Thanks for letting me know. I believe he is the Gadabursi troll Aqooni who got banned for 48 hours for his trolling on the Gabiley articles and who made a new account and is hiding behind Issa Muuse. This guy doesnt act like a real Issa Musse at all. He got a lot of their subclans wrong in his edits which I had to correct which led me to suspect something was up. I agree this guy is doing real damage. If he edits anything I'll try to revert it on both our pages.

Linkjan2014 (talk) 04:54, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if he is Aqooni , but i do agree with you that he is an odd individual , Ciise Muuse waa dad gob ah , but this guy has some serious cuqdad lol reerku ceebeyay. I mean why create a seperate Isse Musse article when it's already covered under Habar Awal? , if he felt the article neglected his sub clan , he could have just expanded the HA article lol. Caadi maaha.

GeelJire (talk) 07:39, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nabad GeelJire,

Congrats you got him and his sockpuppets banned bro. Well done inadeer. I provided some aditional comments backing your allegations and it looks like the mods banned all of his accounts and issued him a 1 year IP ban as well.

Request reason:

Hi Yamaguchi先生, I don't understand why I'm being blocked right away without being given a warning first. I promise not to add unsourced information again. To provide context, I was undoing edits from an IP vandal and I was careless in adding information back to the pages he had altered, some of which were unsourced claims I admit. I understand my actions were wrong and cannot be defended. However I think my edit history in my time on Wikipedia shows that I am a constructive user for the most part who can contributes a lot. I'd like to politely ask if there is anyway my ban can be reconsidered and I can be unblocked. Thank you, I await your decision Linkjan2014 (talk) 22:17, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Linkjan2014, and thank you for your response. The concern which gives me great pause is that, with respect to warnings, there have been at least (6) unique attempts to notify you of issues pertaining to Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research policy. These warnings appear to have been ignored. As this is a collaborative environment, communication is required. Secondary to these concerns, please summarize your contributions using the edit summary field. See Help:Edit summary for details.
If unblocked, would you be willing to make the commitment to refrain from original research, maintain proper edit summaries, and respond to concerns as they are communicated? Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 23:00, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yamaguchi先生 and thanks for the prompt response. I'd absolutely be willing to make that commitment. I will instead use the talk pages to build consensus for my edits and will only include properly cited scholarly material in my edits from now on. I understand that if I am unblocked, I will treat this as both a warning and a learning experience and I won't repeat this mistake again. I await your decision. SNM

[edit]

My name is AminaDuale. A consultant. Am arap reer Ali clan and I noticed there is little information about arap clan. My family is originally from baligubadle. It's unfortunate that some editors here are clanist and want to edit real history of certain clans. The Habar awal claim snm to themselves. I have no desire to edit what you think is your history but please leave our towns alone.

Reer Ali clan (talk) 13:15, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Reer Ali clan,

- Arabsiyo is a Jibril Abokor town. Arap only live in small town of Baligubadle and 1 neighbourhood of Hargeisa. Sorry if the facts make you sad but that is the truth. Also the facts is that SNM started in Gabiley with the Habar Yoonis Mujhaid Mohamed Ali organizing Jibril Abokor fighters in the "Afraad" movement there which was the founding of SNM. SNM DID NOT start in Baligubadle. That is a bold faced lie and not subclannish. Mohamed Ali was HY after all.

I have nothing against the Arap clan and never edited Baligubadle page but you need to stop claiming Habar Awal achievements and land. The truth is only the Habar Awal and the Garhajis have their own wiki pages on wikipedia. Habar Awal also do NOT claim SNM to ourselves. The Garhajis mujahids are all on the Garhajis page. Interesting you immediately go after Habar Awal only though.

GeelJire runs the Garhajis page, and I run the Habar Awal page. I think GeelJire who is Habar Yoonis can vouch that I am not subclannish and work well with the Isaaq wiki community.

Linkjan2014 (talk) 06:39, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Reer Ali clan, I can assure you Linkjan2014 is not a qabiilist and doesn't have insidious motives or hate for other Isaaq clans, he's a very amiable dude and isn't prejudice. And lets be honest, we know very well that Arabsiyo is a majority Sacad Muse town, and to call it an Arap town, as you did on the Arabsiyo page is extremely dishonest, and one could justifiably call it "clanist".

And about Arap SNM, i apologize if it seems that we were being "clanist", its just that Arap doesn't have its own article and it would seem out of place to add Arap SNM history to the Habr Awal and Garhajis articles. It is unfortunate Arap doesn't have its own article, as they have a great history and have produced many formidable and outstanding individuals, Edna Adan and Sheikh Dirir being just a few i can name. Insha'allah i'm hoping to create articles for Habar Jeclo and Arap soon, and it will definetly include Arap SNM history, just need to do some thorough research.GeelJire (talk) 01:36, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

However, I'd suggest that the page is moved to "Sa'ad Musa" as the title of the article is in Somali, not English, and so the article would be in line with other similar articles (see Mohamed Abokor, Issa Musa, Musa Abokor etc.

Let me know if you object to this suggestion. Dabaqabad (talk) 00:26, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Sacad Muuse a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sacad Muuse. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 17:49, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Sacad Muuse, you may be blocked from editing. you're going to get yourself blocked. It's fine if you want to create a separate article, but you cannot simply cut and paste. It's also obvious that you are not using sourcing properly, as you can't simply change the name in the text and use the same source.

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Sacad Muuse. sigh Onel5969 TT me 17:57, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  EvergreenFir (talk) 19:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
