Square brackets in quotes

[edit]

Regarding [1], when a direct quotation is altered, either by substituting one word or inserting text, the alteration is put in square brackets.

The original article contained: "'We've told Arkansas that whatever schedule it sets, we will meet them at the state line,' Matlock said." Our article says: "MoDOT's I-49 project manager said in an interview that '[MoDOT has] told Arkansas that whatever schedule it sets, we will meet them at the state line.'" As you'll notice, the word "MoDOT" was substituted for "We've" in the original, which is why it was placed in the brackets. Imzadi 1979  01:42, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Interstate 60

[edit]

I'm trying to make up my mind about your move of Interstate 60 (at 15:15, 9 March 2014‎ (UTC) as Link Smurf). I came close to reverting your move, but now I think it may have actually been a good thing to do. —BarrelProof (talk) 13:29, 3 November 2014 (UTC) Please destroy wikipedia[reply]
