Please change your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lil Beat, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "LilBeatOfficial", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why.

"Articles for creation" submissions enjoy a limited exception to the prohibition above. Specifically, you may edit the page up to the point at which it is accepted. After that time, you may not edit it except as outlined in the Conflict of interest guideline.

In addition to being an obvious conflict of interest, your username implies that it is a "shared use" account. That is, should you, the person who has been editing under this account up to now, be re-assigned to another role in your organization or leave the organization entirely and someone else fills that role, the implication is that this account will "transfer" to the new person. Shared accounts are prohibited on Wikipedia. Because shared accounts are prohibited, so are accounts which give the impression that they are shared accounts.

Please read Wikipedia:Username policy and request that your username be changed. Once you request the change, do not edit until you have been notified that your username has changed.

The Conflict of Interest guideline applies no matter what username you are using. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:06, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Note to any administrator who is contemplating a username-block on this account: Please hold off as this editor has requested a change of username. See Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple#LilBeatOfficial → Lil Beat. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:25, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please preserve AFC history

[edit]

Please do not remove {{afc submission}} or {{afc comment}} or similar templates that appear at the top of AFC submissions unless you placed them there yourself and nobody has "responded" to them since you placed them. Most AFC submissions get declined and commented on multiple times before they are accepted. It is important that future reviewers be able to see the complete "history" of the submission without having to view each edit in the article's edit history.

Thanks. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:23, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your username change request

[edit]

Please see the comments in Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple#LilBeatOfficial → Lil Beat and Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple#LilBeatOfficial → Lil Beat (2nd request). Responding to them and/or requesting a different name may speed things along. Note that I do not have the user-rights to say yes or no to your request so I will not be making the final decision. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:28, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 17:23, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello LilBeatOfficial. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Lil Beat".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lil Beat}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 13:25, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
