DYK for S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes

[edit]

On 29 March 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that after 50 years in business, S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes is both a landmark and a stop on "Haunted Pittsburgh" tours? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, S.W. Randall Toyes and Giftes), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

New Delsort category

Deletion sorting
Deletion sorting

Since you perform deletion sorting for AfD discussions, check out the new Delsort category/page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Products. Take a look, and note the criteria for posting there, listed atop the page in a box. Thanks for your work to manage Wikipedia! North America1000 21:34, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delsort scripts

[edit]

Hi, since you are doing some deletion sorting, I recommend you use one of the delsort scripts to make the process easier.

Feel better

[edit]

Not sure why your user page is on my watchlist, but your latest edit caught my eye. When you say "the sickness", I don't know if you mean "a sickness" or "The Sickness", but in either case, hope you get better soon. --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:57, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks! It was the sickness I was tested positive on June 16. I have had it for 12 days with a low grade fever, a headache and body aches, and last night it turned into a high fever of 104. Well I sweated it out last night and when the fever broke, the body aches were gone and my temp is back to normal. So I may have come out the other side! Thankfully I feel like a brand new penny now. I had a kidney transplant in 2015, and was on lots of immune suppression drugs. My doctor cut the majority of immune suppression and that probably caused the high fever. Perhaps my immune system finally got on top of it. Lightburst (talk) 01:56, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merge reversal of AfD consensus

[edit]

Re: Newtown Hardware House. I have to say, THIS is rather disruptive. Can I respectfully ask what are you doing? One doesn't just over-ride consensus like this. You need to get the AfD close reversed first, as this article populates a Category that we are trying hard to empty. GenQuest "Talk to Me" 04:23, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@GenQuest: You are free to question the XfD closer (admin) on his talk page. On his talk page you can see he said this was a close call, between keep, merge and the closer himself placed the merge discussion template that you are erasing. Let's allow the discussion to occur please Lightburst (talk) 04:29, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Honey

[edit]

On my talk page, you said: Hello, the latest research available on the topics were included in that see also. Maybe I do not fully understand the SNG? If there is not a current publication which examines the research the information is dismissed? I would like to understand. My understanding is that once a topic is notable it is always notable.

The first link you added, Life Mel Honey, is a commercial article that should/will soon be deleted, WP:PROMO. Infant botulism is not a topic covered in the last 20 years by high-quality reviews in reputable clinical sources - honey given to infants under one year old may be considered a risk, but there is no definitive review literature on it. Third, the idea that honey can treat chemotherapy-induced neutropenia is plain quackery. In sum, there are no WP:MEDRS sources linked to any of these topics you added. Zefr (talk) 20:24, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Zefr:I understand. I only followed the study. albeit a small one regarding honey and chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Since honey is not even a medical topic...perhaps some information regarding the use of honey in this area can be included?

@Velella: It is bad form...per WP:DTR. It was not a mistake and I stated as much in the summary. And if you think it is not up to our notability standards you may AfD as I have stated. Have a nice weekend, sincerely. Lightburst (talk) 22:36, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
