Three identical articles

[edit]

You have created three articles that are essentially indentical. There should be just one article, and the other names would be aliases, or what we call "redirects", to that one article. Please tell me which name should be the main name, and I will show you how to create redirects from the other two names to that one article. Sbowers3 (talk) 15:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You changed it to recreation therapy, which is fine. I did that because we our profession cannot decide on a name. People will look for information as therapeutic recreation or recreation therapy, and sometimes recreational therapy. Thank you! I am trying :) LeisureG8R (talk) 18:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why a link to http://www.iamarecreationaltherapist.com is inappropriate on Wikipedia is because this website simply provides links to other websites and does not have any information on its own. Now, it could possibly be used if it provided a really good set of links, but it provides links to a) websites that are already linked from the article on Wikipedia, and b) websites that do not qualify to be linked from Wikipedia (Youtube, Facebook, MySpace). Since it provides nothing beneficial, having it here will only detract from the few links that are good. Essentially, Wikipedia is first and foremost an encyclopedia, and external links should be kept to a minimum. You are welcome to add your link to the Open Directory Project. Wikipedia's external link policy can be read at this link: WP:EL. If you disagree with my assessment, please feel free to write on the article's talk page and perhaps we can get some more independent opinions. Welcome and happy editing! I welcomed you

May I ask what you are getting at. Chubbennaitor 20:07, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The advertisement warning was added by RHaworth (talk · contribs). I've added an explanation to Talk:Recreation therapy (the article's talk page). (EhJJ)TALK 21:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes look great; you guys do a great job with this. I like the merger of information. In particular, I like that if someone wants to learn more about RT/TR, that regardless of what they type for a name, they will all get to the same information. Thank you!— Preceding unsigned comment added by LeisureG8R (talkcontribs)

Thanks! You'll get the hand of the technical stuff as you contribute more. In the mean time, I encourage you to be bold and contribute to recreational therapy. It still needs a lot of work to give a concise description of the profession. Chubbennaitor (talk · contribs) provided some good links (above) to get you started on Wikipedia's ideal article.
