Fair use rationale for File:Freedom Magazine 001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Freedom Magazine 001.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 22:34, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Politi Script cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your User Page

[edit]

You can't move your user page to an article. It confuses the hell out of the system. You should set up a new page. If you need help to do this then ask at WP:ANI --Snowded TALK 21:31, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help with you user page

[edit]

Hi, Leicester17, I've removed the redirect code that has been objected to. That way you can more easily edit your user page. Just click the "user" tab, then the "edit" tab" — then add the text you want on your user page and click "Save..."

Let me know if you have any more questions, but I'm going to sleep now ... it's bedtime in California. Cheers. Proofreader77 (interact) 11:04, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Much thanks, Proofreader77!
You're very welcome, Leicester17 ... And I'm sure it will take some time to remember (it did for me LoL), just be sure to add ~~~~ (four tildes) to sign your username and timestamp. (I will finally get to bed, eventually! :-) Proofreader77 (interact) 12:20, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on creating the Prins article. One important thing for you as a creator of articles is the concept of a sandbox. You can have your own personal one, develop an article there, then move it into articlespace once you believe it's ready-to-go. That's much better than developing it on your userpage! Good luck! I've taken the liberty of creating a sandbox for you. It is linked from your user page and ready to use. To see a sandbox in action take a look at my sandbox. Mjroots (talk) 15:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. I'll be happy to use my new sandbox! Leicester17 (talk) 13:25, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image Sabria Jawhar

[edit]

Hi. I can;t find any rationale for believing this image has been released into the public domain: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Copy_of_J-Sabria.JPG#metadata

Why did you upload it? Noloop (talk) 17:22, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Same for this one: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Jawhar.IREX.Dubai.09.JPG

Newstilt articles

[edit]

Hi. While editing Women's rights in Saudi Arabia I used some articles on newstilt.com as sources. They were good articles, and provided a much-needed Saudi insight on certain issues. Newstilit has seemingly shut down, and now those references are dead links. I was googling around for the author, when I was reminded of you.... I wonder if you might happen to know another way to use those articles as sources. The articles are "Saudi Female Journalist Tackles Muslim Stereotypes" and "The Emerging Power of the Twentysomething Saudi Woman" and "Saudis Debate Gender Segregation" Cheers! Mindbunny

[edit]

I see from the Women's rights in Saudi Arabia article Talk page you had an issue with Mindbunny. I'd appreciate it if you'd take a look at Mindbunny's talkpage as there is a discussion on an edtit-war that you might want to comment on given your previous experience. License tagging for File:Max.Wagner.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Max.Wagner.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:05, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

women's rights in Saudi Arabia article

[edit]

hi Leicester17. i've put a suggestion under your concern at Talk:Women's rights in Saudi Arabia#Western_Perspective. My guess is that your concern is valid. i've made a suggestion, which i think is quite practical. The topic overall is much too big for a single article. Anyway, details are over there. File:Max.Wagner.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 08:40, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Les Wagner.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Les Wagner.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 02:01, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Rob wagners script 19400511.jpg.

This file is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the file description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. — Ирука13 10:13, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
