This document was useful. May I prevail upon you for an updated version? —rybec 19:56, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Done, though it's much much shorter. Right now it only picks up users who are listed in a {{checkuser}} template on the main page, maybe I should extend it to searching the archive too? Legoktm (talk) 22:58, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. Your script seems to just be parsing the first section at [1]. I had misunderstood what it was for: I had assumed it was listing the work of accounts in Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Morning277 and Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Morning277. Would such a list be very easy for you to make? I can do it myself but your script did it nicely (showing the redirects, sorting by account name). —rybec 23:33, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Yup, sure. Running that now. I had forgotten about those categories, they seem way more useful. Legoktm (talk) 23:50, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Updated at User:Legoktm/Morning277 and User:Legoktm/Morning277 suspected. I forgot that the script only includes blocked users, so I'll remove that check and re-run it. Legoktm (talk) 00:15, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Thank you!

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Legoktm. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:39, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Stuart Wilde page

Hello Logoktm

I try to find current editor for SW page here on wiki and you were the only one I could find. I'm sorry for disturbing you if that's not correct.

I would like to create same page in other language, I can provide translation, but need a technical support on how to do things here on wiki, as I had no previous experience. I would appreciate your help here, or any advices would be just great

Thank you for your work here and have a great day take care GG AmaliaGG (talk) 11:01, 3 September 2013 (UTC) AmaliaGG (talk) 05:06, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

HBC_Archive_Indexerbot

Hi there. I've just learnt a bit about HBC_Archive_Indexerbot, but gather that you may have replaced it (as User:HBC_Archive_Indexerbot/logs stopped eons ago).

Please could you point me to its successor? (Apols. if I missed a pointer I should have spotted.) Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 05:11, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Actually, I now gather that the successor is Legobot(_15), which is Active. Does this produce logs, as HBC_Archive_Indexerbot used to? Is there a page where I could learn a bit more about Legobot(_15)? Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 05:50, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Ah - I see from here that Task 15 hasn't run since 25 March. I guess we all wish you luck, juggling all the fine Bots you run, finding time to reactivate some of them. Trafford09 (talk) 04:23, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

I'll try and get it up by the end of the week, sorry about the delay...guess I should check my bot's talk page more often. Legoktm (talk) 04:39, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Talk page layout

Hi Legoktm. I don't know if anybody had mentioned this before, but this Talk page layout doesn't lend itself well to those like me who have inferior eyesight. You see, I use Firefox for viewing WP, and normally I do so with WP pages zoomed in by 2 notches. To demonstrate this on this page, if you are in Firefox, hold down Ctrl and hit the + key twice.

This expands the writing etc. and, on nearly all WP pages, it allows text to wrap around to the next line. However, this Talk page won't allow the automatic wrap-round - I think because of the green-line border running around the topics. So, I have to use the horiz. scroll bar, or strain my eyes a little.

So, I just wondered how committed you were to retaining the green-line border.

Just a thought - please don't let me (/us) disturb the fine work you do for WP. Regards, Trafford09 (talk) 04:37, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Weird, probably because it was a horrible table hack. How does it look now? Feel free to fix it yourself too :) Legoktm (talk) 05:11, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Wow - that was quick! It looks absolutely great now. Many thanks. Trafford09 (talk) 05:20, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Old unblock request left hanging

I noticed you blocked a sock during Rcsprinter123's RfA - the master has had an unblock appeal open since the 28th of August. (User:Johnericlee) Could you deal with that as appropriate please? :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 16:50, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

I typically don't do unblock requests, so I'll leave that for a more experienced admin to handle. Legoktm (talk) 16:52, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

So...

I just came here to pointlessly pester you, but now that I'm here, I have to ask - what's this 'Parser profiling data'? -— Isarra 05:07, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

It's basically the pretty version of the HTML comment block that is normally in the page source:

Page exists

Hi Legoktm, you've deleted the cat:Turkish women academicians. OK, no objection, but I couldn't understand your rationale. The cat is not dependent on a non existent page. see Turkish women in academics. Cheers. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 06:18, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Actually I deleted Category talk:Turkish women academicians, because it was the talk page of a deleted page, Category:Turkish women academicians, which was deleted by User:Yunshui because it was empty, see CSD C1. Legoktm (talk) 06:20, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

ANI / issue with Legobot

Information icon Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is User:Legobot_is_.28was.29_malfunctioning. Thank you. --Tgeairn (talk) 20:33, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

I've responded there. Legoktm (talk) 21:50, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

I see this fle was just deleted and it could be used in this article: Toro_Negro_State_Forest#Villalba-Orocovis_Lookout. Can you point me to the delete nomination discussion aw I am not able to locate it? I would like to see if it would be worthwhile attempting to recover it depending on what it said and what the image contained. Thanks. Mercy11 (talk) 17:18, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

That page was simply a redirect to File:Cordillera Central Puerto Rico.JPG. I'm confused as to why you created a redirect for it. There was no deletion discussion/nomination for it. Legoktm (talk) 17:21, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
OK! that explains why it was in my watchlist!! Yes, I remember now! Frankly, I was sort of experimenting if it was possible to use redirects with image files in addition to text files (articles). This image seemed to be a good test file since it involved both, the lookout and the mountain range. Thanks for the reply,,, I will not need to pursue this any further. Hey, read this before deleting my Guestbook, it is not spam, a lot of people have guestbooks around here. So, please give it back to me. Miss Bono [zootalk] 12:26, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I found it, thank you for deleting the IP's edit. Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:00, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

archive.is

Hi, could you please comment on your change to Ripoff Report? The change by the IP editor looks valid: I opened both URLs and only the new one has the story about the topic of the article. However, I've recently noticed edits just like this from various IP addresses around the world. —rybec 21:37, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Copypaste.py

Hi, I was using your tool copypaste.py to improve the links in Commons to Wikipedia. But it is not working anymore. Could you please have a look at it ? Many thanks. Lionel Allorge (talk) 17:09, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Okay, after fighting with the toolserver a bit, it should work now. Let me know if you notice anything else broken. Thanks, Legoktm (talk) 08:10, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
It works fine. Thank you ! Lionel Allorge (talk) 09:27, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

JS changes

A few questions if you are willing and able to optimize this code. I thought there were versions of IE that "indexof" didn't work in.

Maybe we don't need it at all. Perhaps

(( mw.config.get( 'wgUserName' ) == null ) || mw.config.get( 'wgUserEditCount' ) < 2 )) would be more portable

It would also allow a new editor to opt in after their first edit, which is a better approximation.

If you can do this with a default gadget and we can do that without WMF's assistance, great. While I can code JavaScript, I don't know much about MediaWiki installations. That makes me tread carefully and only want to do very simple things.—Kww(talk) 06:26, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Wtf, IE8 doesn't support indexOf. [2]. Yeah, your solution would probably work out better. I came up with [3] which would still check on autoconfirmed, but also let the user opt-in to VE as soon as they wanted. Legoktm (talk) 06:32, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
So what do you think of User:Kww/common2.js?—Kww(talk) 06:49, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
You're missing a comma in the mw.loader.using line. Personally I'd like to see the userjs preference in there so we only set it once and never again, but the chance that someone doesn't ever make an edit and tries to enable VE is pretty slim I guess. Legoktm (talk) 06:53, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
Ah. You used the obsolete gadget as a memory device. I didn't catch that. That's easy enough to add. Still, with this structure, you don't foresee any significant resource problems? It's bedtime for me, so I won't be doing this until tomorrow at the earliest.—Kww(talk) 07:02, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
I don't see any pressing issues with it, but at the same time I'm not an JS expert, you should probably check with someone like User:TheDJ. Legoktm (talk) 07:06, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Ramakant Prasad

Hello Legoktm,

I came across the above article two days ago while browsing through the Back-log pages and noted that it was marked for speedy deletion (sorry, missed the deletion date). I did some research and stumbled upon some references and subject matter, which I deemed could save the article (sorry again, I didn't edit it that day but saved my work on Word as I was a little unfinished and then had to stop work and rush off on an errand). Lo and behold, when I searched for the article, today, it had been already deleted.

I was just wondering, if you'd be interested to go over the work I did on the article, just in case. If yes, I could send you the same for your kind perusal.

Best regards, (MrNiceGuy1113 (talk) 07:38, 23 September 2013 (UTC))

Done, I've reset the PROD timer, so make sure you add them in before that time. Legoktm (talk) 16:47, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Andy LoCascio

I see that the wikipedia page for Andy LoCascio was just deleted for notability reasons. Please note that all of the information on that page was completely factual and I am indeed to host of Northeast Angling TV (see neangling.com) with a web reach of over 500K visitors per month across mulitple channels. I am also the founder of Sound Strategies (a very significant NY SEO and development firm). We are the developers for the current scotusblog.com website which is the first website in history to receive a Peabody award. If it is not too much trouble, I would like to see that page restored.

Hi Legoktm. As far as I can see this supposed place in Kansas simply does not exist nor has never existed. I've been wrong many a time. Your thoughts? --Shirt58 (talk) 12:56, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Looks like I was the one in the wrong this time, thanks for taking care of it! Legoktm (talk) 05:18, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

That's an incorrect name, which was opposed at CFDS, see there. The correct new name would be Category:Intelligence or espionage articles by quality. Also why are you marking your edits as "Robot"? Are you running an unapproved bot on your main account? Armbrust The Homunculus 01:06, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi, my script just picked it up from WP:CFD/W. If it was opposed, then the administrator should have never added it to that page. (See [4]). Also, my bot is approved for handling CfD work, I just ran it on my main account so it would do it faster. Legoktm (talk) 05:17, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
The opposition was resolved, but under a different name (see in the above, the "related" part was dropped from the name), it was just copied over incorrectly.) Also what you did is in violation of WP:BOTACC, which explicitly says "Contributors should create a separate account in order to operate a bot." Armbrust The Homunculus 06:13, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Okay. I can add the correct version to WP:CFD/W if you'd like.
"should" is not "must". I simply saw there was a backlog, and decided to quash it.Legoktm (talk) 06:17, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Already fixed, not need to add it. (Also because the categories are added through a template, the bot couldn't recategorise any page in it.) Armbrust The Homunculus 06:21, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Great, thanks for taking care of it! And yes, that is a shortcoming of Cyde's script, I'm not really sure if there is an easy way to fix it. Legoktm (talk) 06:28, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
