- Hi, the deletion rationale was "This is a plaque, So FoP may not be applicable, In addition text is a literary work not art". The important part is that the plaque itself might be non-free, not who took the photo. Legoktm (talk) 16:20, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Huggle 3
Hey Legoktm! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:
- Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
- Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot
If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. Have fun testing and please let us know about any problems, either using bugzilla @ http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/ or #huggle connect. Please respond to my talk page, I am not going to watch your talk page. Thank you Petrb (talk) 10:57, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Legobot archiving issue
Hi Legoktm. :) I just noticed that for the old Miszabot archiving tasks, Legobot is adding whitespace to sections even if they aren't being archived. For example, in this edit (near the bottom) ==Talkback==
became == Talkback ==
, and an extra line break was added before the talkback notice. I assume this is unintentional? Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 14:13, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Miszabot always added the (horizontal) space before and after all section header titles that didn't have them when archiving my page; I'm assuming that Legobot just does what Miszabot did. It has always seemed odd to me that it would add the space when the section headers are created without them when using Wikipedia's normal New Section edit selection, but it seemed a minor point, so I never asked about it. (I don't remember about extra line break behavior.) BlueMoonset (talk) 16:40, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yup, see User:MiszaBot/Archive FAQ Q6. Legoktm (talk) 21:11, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

GA notification by Legobot
Hi Legoktm. Legobot is a handy little bot, though I do like to leave personal notices regarding GA nominations and listing. What is the best way to prevent Legobot leaving notices for nominators? SilkTork ✔Tea time 18:56, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- Is there a way?
- And is it possible for Legobot to do the actual GA listing - that's always a tedious fiddly operation, and some people put listings in the wrong place alphabetically. SilkTork ✔Tea time 09:33, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- I created User:GA bot/Don't notify users for me, and have most of the code written, just need to test it to make sure it works.
- Thanks for that! SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:43, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Do you mean updating the subpages of Wikipedia:Good articles? I can look into it, but not sure I'll have time to get it done anytime soon. Legoktm (talk) 17:17, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. Anytime you do it will be good by me! It's the sort of fiddly tedious little job that bots are good at and humans screw up on all too easily! The hard parts will be getting your bot to recognise when a name has to be reversed, and when part or all of an article title needs to go into italics. I don't know how you would write the code for that! But please try, because it's not fun doing that bit! SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:43, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Why did you add Category:Opted-out of message delivery to talk pages?
You went about (adding Category:Opted-out of message delivery using HotCat) to my talk page among others. Why? I certainly didn't ask for that. Dream Focus 01:38, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- Wikimedia wikis are switching over to a new system of message delivery, see m:MassMessage and User:MediaWiki message delivery, which is replacing User:EdwardsBot. This new system has a different opt-out method, so I went to every page on Wikipedia:Bots/Opt-out/EdwardsBot, and converted them to the new system, which is a category. You're more than free to un-opt-out, I just thought it would be annoying if people had opted-out and started receiving messages again. Legoktm (talk) 01:41, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- Oh. So it has nothing to do with the edit before that, from DPL bot. "Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:04, 19 November 2013 (UTC)" Sorry, my mistake. The other bot was the irritating pointless one. Dream Focus 01:48, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Problems
- Wikis that are currently testing CirrusSearch had problems with search results on November 18 from 16:00 to 20:00 UTC.

GAN December 2013 Backlog Drive
Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days! In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00. At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge. |
