Please add WikiProject categories to the Requests for comment-pages
@Legoktm: Could you please make the bot add the relevant WikiProject-categories to the requests for comment by topic-pages?
Answering to requests for comments is within the scope of a WikiProject's tasks so it would be useful to categorize these pages appropriately.
For instance Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Maths, science, and technology should get the categories Category:WikiProject Mathematics, Category:WikiProject Science and Category:WikiProject Technology set. (I added them but the Legobot removed it, saying Maintenance.)

Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions renamed
Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions was moved to Wikipedia:Teahouse and now the Teahouse section on Wikipedia:Dashboard/Help noticeboards is broken. Legobot will have to know about the page move. —MRD2014 (talk • contribs) 01:09, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Bot thinks passed article failed
It seems legobot has detected a "fail" on an article (Medstead) that I passed as GA (and the correct template was used on the talk page). Why would this be? Bungle (talk • contribs) 22:06, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
@Legoktm: Long story short, I'm not sure how this edit by Legobot happened (moved the "February 7" header to the middle of the page for some reason), but my guess is that it had a bug due to this edit that Godsy performed. My guess is that the bot had an issue due to the relist being so close to 00:00 (UTC), but I'm speculating. I mean, I also know that editors who clerk MfD have recently been relisting pages there in that manner (after it was discovered), but what connection to any effect that may have on Legobot (or even any connection to the two edits I linked above) is uncertain to me. Steel1943 (talk) 06:13, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- I fixed a similar error with regard to February 3rd, which happened when the bot was relisting Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Tello Mobile. I'll note that on both occasions of the error identified here, the day section was currently empty when the discussions were relisted, not sure if that has anything to do with it. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 06:28, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Marking new GA's on Wikidata?
Hi, could your bot also make edits like this to Wikidata to mark an article's GA status, please? (Alongside edits like [1]) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:57, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
Note re. GAN Monnow Bridge
Legobot keeps removing a note I've added to the above. Any way to stop it doing this? KJP1 (talk) 10:34, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- @KJP1: Do you mean these edits to Wikipedia:Good article nominations? It's a bot-built page; every twenty minutes the bot rebuilds it based upon data drawn from the various GA nom pages. It's pointless trying to alter it, the bot will only put it back to what it "knows" to be the correct version. When editing the page, you should have seen this notice.
- If you really think that it should be listed in the Transport section, the thing to do is to go to Talk:Monnow Bridge, and edit the
|subtopic=
parameter of the{{GA nominee}}
template, see Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions#Step 2: Nominating the article. Within twenty minutes, Legobot will rebuild the WP:GAN page, and the article will be listed at WP:GAN#TRANS under the new heading. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:16, 24 February 2017 (UTC)- Many thanks - it was rather like trying to argue with my television. I think it can stay where it is, it's architecture as much as it's transport. It was only that the one above, which I'm reviewing, managed to do it. KJP1 (talk) 16:11, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- KJP1, in future, if you want to add a note, the place to do it is in the GA nominee's
|note=
parameter: add what text you want, and the bot will format it for you on the GAN page. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:29, 24 February 2017 (UTC)- Many thanks indeed. KJP1 (talk) 16:33, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Misconversion of diacritics
Beginning at 17:41, 15 February 2017 (UTC) and going on until at least 18:01, Legobot has made a number of edits which include links where one or more diacritics or dashes have been altered to incorrect characters, thus producing redlinks. For example, in the first of these, Przemysł II was actually linked as PrzemysÅ‚ II. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:33, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
- Uhhh, looks like it started randomly converting unicode to ascii? It seems like it fixed itself and I haven't touched the code at all (to cause or fix it). I've put out a call for new maintainers on WP:BON for those tasks. Legoktm (talk) 17:51, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Legobot not updating my talk page index
I have an index for my talk page set up at User talk:MRD2014/Archive index. However, Legobot isn't updating even though the top includes <!-- Legobot can blank this-->
. I have the configuration template set up on my talk page which appears as the following:
{{User:HBC Archive Indexerbot/OptIn
|target=User talk:MRD2014/Archive index
|mask=User talk:MRD2014/Archive <#>
|leading_zeros=0
|indexhere=yes
|template=
}}
, which I believe is correct. Can anyone help me here if they know what's wrong? (The stuff on it already was added by me manually.) —MRD2014 (talk • contribs) 00:16, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- I am not any kind of expert, but took a look at Talk:George Washington and that page's Indexing - the code there looks a little different.
- {{User:HBC Archive Indexerbot/OptIn |target=/Archive index |mask=/Archive <#> |leading_zeros=0 |indexhere=yes}}
- <--Have you tried this code? Couldn't hurt...you would have to leave everything alone for a while. I see from your archiving that you have that set to do a run every 10 days, leaving 5 threads behind and archiving a minimum of 3 threads. You'll need to wait for the talkpage archiving to kick in. Heh, but as I said...I'm no expert but maybe my suggestions could help. Shearonink (talk) 00:39, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- This is about indexing (which Legobot does using User:HBC Archive Indexerbot/OptIn), not archiving (which lowercase sigmabot III does using User:MiszaBot/config). The page archives just fine. —MRD2014 (talk • contribs) 00:43, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- I guess it's working . Legobot updated it on February 14. —MRD2014 📞 What I've done 03:26, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Malfunction?
What's going on here? [2]. Every 20 minutes for the last 7 hours, Legobot has been adding 1 to Freikorp's review count. Is this standard process or a malfunction? --The1337gamer (talk) 14:05, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
GA bot doesn't count some signatures
I recently figured out how to reproduce a long-standing issue with the GA bot in which some editors (including myself) do not receive bot notifs about the review or review counts next to their signatures on WP:GAN. The bot needs to see a "User:" link in the nominator's signature. Currently, signatures with only "User_talk:" links will not receive notifs/counts. Edits like this appear to fix it. Would you be able to tweak the signature detection in the code so that it works with all signatures? (I think it's potentially line 259.) If you're unavailable, is there someone else who can help? czar 20:20, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- It's been years since I've looked at that code. But from what you're describing I think this should do the trick:
<?php
// Line 255
public function setNominator ( $nominator ) {
$nominator = trim($nominator);
if (!empty($nominator)) {
$this->nominator = $nominator;
preg_match("/\[\[User([ _]talk)?:(.+?)\|.+?\]\]/",$nominator,$m);
if (!empty($m[2]))
$this->nominator_plain = trim(ucfirst(str_replace('_',' ',$m[2])));
}
}

Archive index target page
I just started archive indexing on Talk:Coaxial cable by copying the template from Talk:Vacuum tube. However, I have just noticed that the instructions at User:HBC Archive Indexerbot say this should not work because the full index page name and mask page name are required rather than just /Archive <>. But the index actually exists for Vacuum tube at Talk:Vacuum tube/Archive index so this does seem to work. Do the instructions need updating, or should I amend the templates on both pages? SpinningSpark 10:19, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Update: the article is being indexed (and nothing was changed), so I guess the instructions are incorrect. SpinningSpark 09:04, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Teahouse questions now asked at the bottom of the page
The discussion Wikipedia talk:Teahouse#Top v bottom and subsequent changes to MediaWiki:Gadget-teahouse/content.js mean that Teahouse questions are now added at the bottom of the page like sections at most other talk pages. Hi, any chance you could revisit my talk page and give me the green/Pass message. The article made GA this time, but it seems your bot must have read it as a fail because the GA1 result was still there at the top of the talk page. Thanks, JG66 (talk) 17:48, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

How does Legobot determine number of GA reviews conducted?
I see for some GA nominations, Legobot lists the number of reviews the nominator has made. Where does it get this information, and why does it not do this for all nominations? Thanks! —swpbT go beyond 20:40, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Template maintenance
Hi,
Legobot attempts to insert date parameters to the {{use dmy dates}} and {{use mdy dates}} templates where the recognised date parameter is absent. I have just noticed that the bot inserts dates even where the date parameter is present but the syntax is incorrect, thereby causing a number of related errors. Could you perhaps tweak the bot code so that the syntax errors are picked up and eliminated when inserting dates? Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 21:08, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Ohconfucius: This example is from more than four years ago. Have you any recent examples of Legobot dating templates incorrectly? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 14:30, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm just going through the template error list whose link I gave above. Most of those I dare say were the result of errors made some time ago and followed by the
|date=
parameter being appended either by AnomieBot or Legobot. I don't know whether the bots still do these, but the request is "just in case" -- Ohc ¡digame! 19:52, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
