Sooke Region Museum

[edit]

The thing is that not all possible references are equally valid ones. Many of the references you've added to the article so far are primary sources, such as tourist directories and the museum's own website, and not quite enough of them yet are reliable, independent sources to media coverage of the museum. It's not about the number of sources present in the article, so much as the quality and reliability and editorial independence of the sources — for example, an article that cites just one reference can be better sourced than one that cites 50, if the article with one reference in it is sourced to another encyclopedia, and the article with 50 references in it is sourced entirely to blogs. Your best bet, if you want to continue to improve the article, would be to kick up a few more newspaper and magazine references — even just one or two more would be enough, as long as you also drop "sources" like TripAdvisor and Tourism Victoria and beingtsouke and "Best Weekend Getaways from Vancouver". Just as an example, I'm sure you can find a newspaper article somewhere about the funding referendum — that's an example of the kind of thing that should be sourced to a newspaper article about it, rather than to a raw table of the vote totals on the CRD's own website. Hope that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 20:45, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Much better. There are still a few minor adjustments still needed (mostly around things like the punctuation in a sentence belonging before the reference tags rather than after), but the referencing is improved more than enough that I've accepted the article this time. Thanks for your cooperation — sometimes new users just get frustrated when their draft submission isn't instantly accepted as is, and walk away without actually improving it any further, so thank you so much, and congratulations, for actually sticking with it and seeing it through to victory.
