Malo e lelei!

I'm an editor in Aotearoa, and would love to learn more about your work. Friagatewayfinder (talk) 09:03, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Io malo Friagatewayfinder, thanks for getting back to me.
I am currently working on this incubator in Uvean: https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/wls/P%C4%81sina_T%C4%81fito
We added all existing Pasifika languages available at the bottom of this page. As Uvean is close to Tongan, we use similar words for translation.
The idea is really to use wikimedia as a platform to create content in our native Pasifika languages as Wikipedia always comes first in rankings in a Google search.
The challenge is to find more speakers who can participate in the various Wikimedia projects. It is comforting to see what you guys do in Aotearoa and to know that we are not alone.
Keep in touch!

Malo toko!
What amazing work you are doing. My name is Kasi Valu, so feel free to add me on social media (instagram or facebook) to remain connected.
I wanted to ask whether you are going to Wikimania in Singapore this year? Friagatewayfinder (talk) 05:19, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Io malo Kasi te ma'uli,
I've just followed you on FB from our Coconut Wireless Uvea mo Futuna page. I help my Niuean friend Mary Aue who runs Coconut Wireless from Mangere administer the Uvean page. I am currently based in the Netherlands so Singapore is too far for me, man. I went to present at the Wikimedia Contribuling in Paris instead last month. My paper was on using new technologies to maintain and promote faka'uvea among our expat youth. Ko he ngaue faingata'a kae fakafiafia ki te loto. Faka'apa'apa mo 'ofa atu.
