It seems a bit late to welcome you, but welcome at least to editing Scouting articles. --Bduke (Discussion) 07:31, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have two difficulties with this. One, I do not see how it can easily be sourced. Do you have references to add? Two, I am not seeing articles like this for Scouting in other countries, such as the US or UK? --Bduke (Discussion) 04:59, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bduke: thank you, reasonable points. I do indeed have references, which I have forgotten to add (these are principally the national document Australian Policy & Rules and the state-based Information Books which guide day-to-day operations). I shall amend this ASAP.

Regarding your second point, I did consider a glossary of generic Scouting terms applicable to all countries. However, there's sufficient diversity across the world that any reasonably-comprehensive global glossary would be very long and unwieldy, but there's also enough terminology that means different things in different places that it would likely cause confusion. I would hope that US/UK Scouts will write their own glossaries in the future, and maybe this will inspire them to do so.
