Issue with article

[edit]

Hello,

I recently tried to delete an inaccurate statement about Franklin Road Academy, and you asked that I not remove cited articles. The citing is referenced to page 1; however, if you read the cited article on that page, it does not, in any form suggest the statement you refused to take down. I will be happy to type out what the article says if you are unable to read it, but nowhere does it say what someone has accused FRA's founding upon, and in no way does it give any attribution to our founding head of school.

Therefore, I have taken down the statements (again) in an effort to be factual about the school.

I am going to update the correct information with correct references. Thank you.

I’ve added transcribed text from the article. Billhpike (talk) 00:07, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We do not care particularly what the folks who started the school have to say about themselves, nor do we care what the current people associated with the school have to say about it. That is not the purpose of an encyclopedia. An encyclopedia's purpose is to summarize what has been written about a given subject in reliable sources, totally independent of the subject. This article is not for the school. It is about the school. There are highly reliable academic sources that state unequivocally that this school was founded as a seg academy. If that is uncomfortable for the current school community, tough! Facts are facts. The school was founded by racists for racists. If you don't like that fact, disassociate yourself from the school, cause it is the truth. John from Idegon (talk) 00:33, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Franklin Road Academy. You are not removing inaccurate information, you are removing very well sourced accurate information that you do not like. If you do it again, you will be looking at losing your editing privileges. If you do have reliable sources independent of the school that clearly state this was not founded as a segregation academy, bring that information to the article talk page for discussion so we can come to a consensus as to what to include in the article. If not, just stop. This article is not here to paint this institution that was founded as a bastion of hatred and racism in sunny bright colors. Revisionism is not going to fly here.
