I don't see why I should wait *months* to get my articles published? Isn't Wikipedia open source? I'm dissapointed and confused...

Hi, so basically I will edit to make the tone more formal, but as far as references go, I think it is OK? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you Laurentchevrettedigital (talk) 13:42, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Laurentchevrettedigital.
I don't see why I should wait *months* to get my articles published? Isn't Wikipedia open source? I'm dissapointed and confused... < I think maybe you are confused about the Articles for Creation process. You have submitted a draft article for review, and due to a large queue of articles waiting to be reviewed and a small number of volunteer reviewers, this process may take several months. The Articles for Creation process isn't the only way to create an article for Wikipedia, but is recommended for new users as it allows you to iterate and approve and get feedback from experienced editors. You can create a new article directly in Wikipedia, bypassing this process, instructions are at WP:YFA, but it would likely be deleted/moved to draftspace in its current format for reasons I will list below
Thanks for re-writing the draft to be more neutral, there are a few more issues with the draft before it is ready to be accepted:
  1. It still has promotional content, and some repeated text, so will need some general copyediting. i.e. the entire "Local Attractions" section is just an advert.
  2. It seems to focus more on the fact it is now a retreat, as opposed to the historic nature of the building. This feels like a thinly disguised advert for the retreat, so please most of that content and focus on the building itself.
