Talk Away!

[edit]

P.S. I'm a personal fan of Red vs Blue! I love your show Keep up the amazing stuff!  MichaelHenley (Page-Talk-Contribs) 06:19, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, my first comment, and it's a misunderstanding. Thanks for the support, but I'm not with RoosterTeeth. I just picked up the nickname in college and it stuck. I appreciate the shoutout, though. Launchpad_72 10:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I've decided to try my hand at some moderating, as I seem to suck at copyediting. Currently I'm working on a dispute here: Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2008-07-03_Silent_Hill. Watch me make a fool of myself. Launchpad_72 10:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't want to sound too optimistic here, but it seems that my first mediation (see above) went pretty well. I'm waiting to hear from everyone else before I close it, but after some of the blogs I read elsewhere today, I'm glad to see that Wikipedia at least still has a civil, well-mannered community. Out. Launch...first, related to this can you see the comments I posted on Thaddius's talk page. It's slightly relevant. As well, have a look at Fragments of Jade's comments on the Silent Hill discussion page itself, I believe they're from yesterday. As I am someone else who tried to solve this issue from the outside, it does appear that you're having a little push back from an editor. I appreciate your use of Canon :-) YOu came up with a policy solution, I came up with a "technical" one ... they all work!! BMW(drive) 10:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So much for a peaceful soloution in the discussion-cum-war I'm moderating. I've probably overstepped my bounds as a moderator here, but I've dilevered an ultimatum to all, since the discussion seems to be everyone else (which has grown considerably over the last few days) vs. Fragments of Jade, who is the only person still vying for the inclusion of the last name. I'm not trying to single her(?) out here, but they're the only editor not budging on an issue where all other parties have sided against them. From my POV, it seems unreasonable, but then again, I know how obsessed my roommate is with the canon of the Metal Gear Solid and Star Wars series. Oh, well. I hope nobody sees me as a bad moderator for this, but I'm starting to get frustrated with all the BS going on. Maybe I'm just tired. Out. Launchpad_72 02:03, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Launch...you've done fine. I arrived on the scene in that "fight" mere moments before you did, and have reached the same frustration. Of course, the more the person "fought back" against a good solution, the more research I ended up doing, which then led me to realize that they had been wrong all along. Sometimes, methinks people should let things drop if they have little or no effect. BMW(drive) 12:26, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ahoy, mate! Hope you don't mind, but I kind of hijacked your first mediation as it looks like a huge mess. Not a fault of your own, good sir; a problem of circumstance.

Anyways, good luck and welcome to MedCab. If you'd like to talk to me on a quicker medium, you should head over to the channel #wikipedia-medcab on irc.freenode.net --The Prophet Wizard of the Crayon Cake 17:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine. I apologize for dashing, but something came up a while back and I was without internet for about two months, not that it was going anywhere. I'm still suprised that it was all over something so trivial. Good luck! Launchpad_72 11:36, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
