I'd like to know how to get a standalone code for Template:Wide image for an image of my own on another wiki?--Launchballer 13:22, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- If you click here, you can view the wikicode for that template. Is this what you wanted help with? Seagull123 Φ 16:33, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- I know how to view the source of a template. When I tried to substitute it, as I've done at the bottom of my sandbox, it displays nothing. I want code for a different wiki that can make an image scroll, like this chap's got.--Launchballer 16:40, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I don't think I can help you, maybe try asking at the help desk? Seagull123 Φ 20:22, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- I'm going to declare this request as 'out of scope' for the {{help}} templates, since you are not asking a question about how to edit English Wikipedia. You're asking a hybrid question that probably won't be taken up at mediawiki software help either. In most cases, the implementation of a template on English Wikipedia can be used as a roadmap for how to build a similar function into a different wiki, but it's a technical task and has the potential to be extremely difficult to accomplish. Sometimes it's simple, though.
- The template in this case has a Lua implementation at Module:Wide image but that may not be very helpful without the surrounding support code base. Wishing you the best of luck on this endeavor! — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 06:28, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
