Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions, but unfortunately they were reverted as they seemed to not satisfy WP:REF. Regardless, I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Charles Laquidara, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. • Gene93k (talk) 18:47, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:35, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Laquidara

[edit]

Hi, it is inappropriate to add a notice to readers as you did to this article. I understand you have an issue with something contained in the article. Could you explain what it is that is factually or otherwise incorrect and maybe I can help correct it or suggest the correct way to proceed. Mfield (talk) 18:58, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Offer to help

[edit]

Hi, Laquidara, the best way to get the conflict of interest notice removed from the article is to stop editing the article. Instead, if you see a problem, post a message at Talk:Charles Laquidara, and interested editors will help you fix the problem in accordance with Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons. If this does not give you the response you desire, please leave a message on my talk page, and I will gladly help you navigate the confusing guidelines of Wikipedia to the best of my ability. I am an administrator here, and would not like to have people come away with a bad impression of Wikipedia. Cheers, --Aervanath (talk) 18:10, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Charles, I just saw your note on my talk page. As far as how to cooperate with Wikipedia on the editing of your article, I and most editors would prefer all communication to be on-wiki. That can be here on your talk page, on my talk page, or on Talk:Charles Laquidara. Anything directly related to the article should probably be posted at Talk:Charles Laquidara, so that editors there can alter the article if it violates our policies. This does not mean that we will necessarily do everything you would like, but we will try to accommodate you in accordance with our principles of Verifiability and Neutrality. I see you have stopped editing the article, which is good. I also see that another editor has gone through and added proper citations to the whole article, so it looks like a decent article now. If you will promise to cease editing the article, then I will remove the "conflict of interest" notice from the article heading. Any further edits you feel need to be made to the article should be posted to Talk:Charles Laquidara. I have added the article to my watchlist, so I will see when you post notices there, as will any other editor that has watchlisted the article. Cheers,--Aervanath (talk) 16:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
