Okay, so I'm new to Wikipedia. I will try to find some thing about the Internet and MySpace and safety and stuff like that, but I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't change any of the information I post on here. It can create problems that can get me sued for copyright reasons. Please, just refrain from doing that. Thanks!

Warmest wishes, LanceWowlgg

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Jazz Age are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. --Salvador Barley (talk) 05:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I get it. But how then can I have general discussions with people on Wikipedia without disturbing another person's page?

Sincerely,

Wikipedia isn't really intended for general discussions - that's more the business of chat rooms and bulletin boards and the like. Yahoo Groups. But on each user-page you'll find an email link where you can send people personal emails (though many users turn it off). If you feel you want to ask someone something, use their user page first, and then that.

Also: on the Leonardo da Vinci page you asked for information you could use for a high school essay (at least I think it was for high school). That's not really a good idea, since the whole idea of high school essays is to give you practice in finding information for yourself - "finding" meaning going to a library and looking it up in a book. Books are reliable sources of information (well, mostl;y) and the Internet is not (well, mostly not). Cheers, PiCo (talk) 07:25, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
