Speedy deletion nomination of LadyKiller(band)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on LadyKiller(band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —KuyaBriBriTalk 22:39, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
my page LadyKiller(band) was deleted. it should not have been. Before I completed my explanation about why it should not have been deleted as it contained many cited sources and explained an interesting relationship between world renowned recording artists and a world renowned studio - I came to find it had already been deleted. If this page has been taken down - then all of the wikipedias related to it - or any wikipedia page about any musician or band should be taken down as well.
- We can give a copy of the page to you for you to work on in your userspace. I'll take care of it for you. Note that it was deleted due to having no assertion of notability. So be sure that you satisfy that clearly before you move it back into the main article space. Gigs (talk) 01:12, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Username
[edit]There is another problem. Your username seems to represent a group instead of a person. Please post a request over at WP:CHU to get a new, personal, username that doesn't appear to represent a group. Gigs (talk) 01:14, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Canvassing
[edit]Hello. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on others' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. rʨanaɢ (talk) 01:26, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
please allow me to change my username so that it does not appear to represent a group - it does not - it is just one of my go-to handles--— Preceding unsigned comment added by LadyKillerRock (talk • contribs)

Your article
[edit]I have moved your article to User:LadyKillerRock/LadyKiller (band) so you can work on it. As noted above, there is no assertion of notability for this band. Please see WP:CSD#A7 for details. In addition, even if you assert notability, that doesn't mean the article can remain on Wikipedia; the band must actually be shown to be notable. Please read WP:N, WP:FIVE, WP:FIRST, and WP:COI. Frank | talk 01:38, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
There does not have to be an assertion of notability for the band, but the band must contain notable musicians. My page contains links to wikipedia pages that already exist - that contain the names of these musicians. the group itself does not have to be notable - just the artist. When a relatively obscure group - made up of artists & musicians that are already prominent for other reasons makes a page - the page is justifiable. for instance - them crooked vultures.
- There definitely needs to be, at the very minimum, an assertion of notability. Containing links to existing pages does not assert notability, nor does it support claims of notability. See WP:NOTINHERITED. Another page you should consult is WP:BAND. Frank | talk 02:23, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- I got your message, but it confused me. First, I didn't have anything to do with actually deleting your article, other than stating my opinion. Secondly, it is a tautology to state that if "your" article is deleted, then all musicians' articles should be deleted, which is a classically invalid argument. Do you infer that we should delete Jimmy Hendrix, too? Thirdly, it has not even been deleted; it was just moved. You need to get a new user name, by the way. Finally, Wikipedia is not a webhost or Myspace. Bearian (talk) 18:48, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Blocked until you get a new name
[edit]Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
