Notability of Trevor Enders
[edit]A tag has been placed on Trevor Enders requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ——Mr. E. Sánchez Wanna know my story?/ Share yours with me! 01:11, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please do not delete the speedy tags yourself, as the item above explains. You are, however, welcome to contest the speedy request. ——Mr. E. Sánchez Wanna know my story?/ Share yours with me! 01:32, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
please ignore
[edit]Please ignore the above messages, and feel free to delete them from your talk page. Assuming that he did indeed play in the major leagues, he is unquestionably notable, and the placing of the tag seems to be absurd. As reviewing administrator, I removed the tag. It was perfectly OK to remove it when it was added in what appears to be a totally absurd manner. I will deal with it further. DGG (talk) 02:32, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of "Jocko Fields"
[edit]A page you created, Jocko Fields, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.
Thank you. Miquonranger03 (talk) 00:11, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Rollback on MLB Players List: W1
[edit]I rolled back a couple of your changes to this page, because those pages are big enough already without linking the team names multiple times. The teams you linked were already linked higher up in the article. -Dewelar (talk) 01:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Tweedy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. Notability of Lewiston-Porter Lancers
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Lewiston-Porter Lancers, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Lewiston-Porter Lancers seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Lewiston-Porter Lancers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hey there!
[edit]LP, I've noticed that a few of your baseball player articles were overzealously nominated for speedy deletion right after you created them. I thought you might be able to use a few tips to ensure that your work doesn't get deleted unfairly, as well as to generally improve the initial quality of the article.
- If someone puts a speedy deletion template on one of your new MLB or NHL player articles, feel free to delete the CSD template. To avoid any controversy, just link to WP:ATHLETE in the edit summary so the tagging editor is aware that notability has been clearly established.
- Instead of just linking to the baseball-reference page for a player, try using the {{baseballstats}} template.
- Another good template for ballplayers' articles is {{Infobox MLB player}}. If you choose not to add it in at first, you can let others know by noting "needs-infobox=yes" in the {{Baseball-WikiProject}} template.
I hope this helps a bit. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line. Cheers, caknuck ° resolves to be more caknuck-y 07:03, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Again, let me know if you have any questions (baseball or otherwise). caknuck ° resolves to be more caknuck-y 02:32, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Hockey goal
[edit]A tag has been placed on Hockey goal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. [edit]Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Hockey goal. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You need to wait for an admin to remove it; not the creator. -Zeus- 19:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did with Hockey goal, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You need to stop removing speedy delete templates; next time, you could get banned -Zeus- 22:43, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Stew Bolen
[edit]I marked this page patrolled. I feel that you can add a bit more to it. Otherwise it could be set up for speedy deletion due to very little context--KingRatedRIV (talk) 01:23, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Stew Bolen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Stew Bolen and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --KingRatedRIV (talk) 01:23, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sean Bratches, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.nba.com/techsummit/bio_bratches.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 03:04, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Russell Wolff. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello LPcatcher20! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 7 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Matt Galante - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Edwin Durso - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Russell Wolff - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Articles for deletion nomination of 4000 strikeout club
[edit]I have nominated 4000 strikeout club, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/4000 strikeout club. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 03:57, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Russell Wolff
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Russell Wolff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Alexf(talk) 14:08, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
