Excellent work! You have made a big contribution. For children AAT study section, you could use more information. Did they find that students learned more, described more comfort in the classroom, or what (i.e. what was their dependent variable? Not that you should use that term in your article, but more information about what they found would b helpful). Psy430uk (talk) 19:47, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
Good finding in the created section of AAT and pain management. This will go along with the already created page on Animal Assisted Therapy. The research on others being in a better mood, like the employees and clinicians, is an interesting thing to look at as well. The environment plays an important role on how people behave and this could cause patients with serious diseases some sort of relief and comfort. Maybe there is more research out there to increase the size of this section. Future research should be added to this because it can have such high benefits to a wide variety of people. In the section with Animal Assisted Therapy and children with learning problems and disabilities, it seems it could be expanded with any other research that uses different animals other than dogs (i.e. cats, fish, or other smaller animals that could be used in a classroom). The study is a good reference but maybe add what age the students were to clarify what year of school they were in when the study was conducted. There could also be future research done to determine if these children that felt comfort with the dog also were comforted by the dog when they were older, 5 or 10 years later. This future research could help disprove some of the criticisms against AAT. The entire article looks good and you have made quite an improvement in the reliability of this article. I really enjoyed reading your article. It was very informative and had good information it. The only things that I would add would be that the children and AAT section could be a little longer, with maybe another study or two in it. It kind of feels like you it was just randomly added on. I was also wondering if there was any research that said that AAT could be harmful to other, already domesticated animals. I understand why therapists would be hesitant to use a wild animal like a dolphin, but I think the interaction with child and animal may actually improve the life of an already domesticated article.
