Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Raghav (Raghuvanshi). When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. The singer appears to be the primary topic. Regardless, if this is not the case you need to open a move discussion on the relevant talk page and perform the move correctly, cut/paste moves break the attribution of articles which is extremely important --Errant [tmorton166] (chat!) 10:59, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Raghav a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. quit it, open a discussion please, for example at Talk:Raghav, and obtain consensus. Errant [tmorton166] (chat!) 11:02, 2 November 2010 (UTC) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Raghav Mathur into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to make a note in an edit summary at the source page as well. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Errant [tmorton166] (chat!) 11:11, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AN/I

[edit]

You need to begin discussing these changes and understand why copy/paste moves are a problem! I have reported you to AN/I for further input as I now have to head off to work --Errant [tmorton166] (chat!) 11:10, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Raghav. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. The purpose of your edits to these pages is not entirely clear, but it may be that you wish to have them renamed. Copy/pasting the contents of one article onto another is not the way to go about this, as it ruins the edit history, and at any rate, it's better to first discuss the matter at one of the article talk pages. Please do this instead of just repeating your previous attempts. Otherwise you risk being blocked from editing. Favonian (talk) 11:39, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hrs for edit warring, as you did at Raghav. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. The article Jayas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:GNG. The two spellings are forenames etc but there is nothing to indicate that this is a caste group - can't even redirect to Rajput due to lack of verification. Unsourced for long enough.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
