Your interest in the Marukis
[edit]Hello KFM,
I never had the honor of ever meeting the Marukis, and am not a relative. I visited the gallery in the fall of 2003/4 and was very impressed by their artistic vision. I started the "Hiroshima Panels" page compelled by the moral significance of the work.
There are several books about the Marukis and their art, both in English and Japanese. Some of these books tend to be expensive however, as many fine art books are. There are a few available from the gallery website, but, depending where you live, your closest library might have one or two.
Someone at the Maruki gallery might be able to better answer some of your questions. Here is the gallery's e-mail address: marukimsn@aya.or.jp . The gallery is a little out of the way, but worth the visit. If you ever get the chance.
Good luck, Mp623 25 October 2006
