Hello Kucingbiru13,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, 1M4U Malaysia, may be copied from http://www.1m4youth.com.my/about-us/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 06:26, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 1m4u, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 1M4U Malaysia. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 07:21, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kucingbiru13, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Im4u, is copied from another Wikipedia page, 1M4U Malaysia. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 07:22, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Im4u

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Im4u. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – 1m4u. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 1m4u – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Grammarxxx (What'd I do this time?) 07:54, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 1M4U Malaysia, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with 1M4U Malaysia. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Users may not remove CSD tags, only admins after making their judgements or the user who originally placed it may. Grammarxxx (What'd I do this time?) 08:12, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kucingbiru. Welcome to Wikipedia. If you want to add new articles (such as 1M4U Malaysia) to Wikipedia, please, write in a neutral manner, don't forget to cite reliable and independent sources, and do not copy and paste the copyrighted content of other websites to Wikipedia. Thanks for your understanding. Don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page if you have any questions. Happy editing :) --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 08:37, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing the 1M4U article

[edit]

Hi Kucingbiru13, I'm Qwyrxian, and I'm another admin here at Wikipedia. I believe the decision to speedily delete the article you created was wrong, and I'm going to help you fix it. There are some definite problems with the article. The first, was that the "Dre1m" section was copied directly from the 1M4U website. For copyright reasons, you can't ever directly copy blocks of text from anywhere onto Wiikipedia. The other main problem is that the article was not neutral. Instead, it praises the program; that's something we have to not do.

However, I believe that both of these problems are fairly easily fixed, and I believe that the multiple news sources you included indicate the subject is clearly notable and thus should have a Wikipedia article. As such, what I did was move the article to the WP:Article Incubator, which is a temporary holding space for things that would otherwise be deleted. You can find it at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/1M4U Malaysia. If you'd like, you can start to work on the problems now; however, I'm more than happy to do it. I just need to wait until tomorrow, because it's fairly late near me and I'm heading off Wikipedia in a moment. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:45, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've reworked the article and moved it back into mainspace. It should be good enough to not be deleted, probably. Now, I've got two questions that I hope you can help with. First, the website, as well as the article you wrote, describes the group as a "non-profit organisation". But the group seems to be funded and run by the Malaysian government. Pretty much by definition, a "non-profit organisation" is some group that is run independent of a government. They may receive government funds, but aren't directly controlled by the government. Could you help explain this seeming contradiction? Second, in the article you created, you had included information about the My Beautiful Malaysia initiative. However, in the references you gave I didn't see any mention of iM4U, and I don't see any discussion of that initiative on the iM4U homepage. Are they really linked? If so, do you have sources to show that? Qwyrxian (talk) 03:39, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your action towards the 1M4U section. I think that I've made a mistake in putting the iM4U organization as a non-profit organisation as it is considered as a branch of the federal government fund for youth. iM4U and My Beautiful program is linked, I will provide sufficient reference for it as soon as possible.Kucingbiru13 (talk) 06:22, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I think I'll change the way the page described them, then. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:37, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions are appreciated, but, in this recent edit to Deepak Jaikishan, you removed Articles for deletion notices from articles or removed other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates. This makes it difficult to establish consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. I have updated the name spellings and page title according to your request, which is consistent with his identification at UMNO Youth Movement. Thank you for your note regarding this. Note that I was not the creator of the article, and that the original spelling may have been due to one of the article sources which had inconsistent spellings for Yahaya's name. For further information on correcting article titles, you can read WP:MOVE; your Wikipedia account may already have this capability but note that it is best to use some caution if you are moving pages.
