January 2020: Signing your discussion posts
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you.--Quisqualis (talk) 16:50, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Now there's only one copy of your article
[edit]I recently noticed that there were three copies of your article, User:Krisrobertson/DJ Blitz (Radio Host), two of them in your Talk spaces. This could create confusion if edits were made to different copies of the article, so I have erased (blanked) the two versions in Talk space, leaving only User:Krisrobertson/DJ Blitz (Radio Host).--Quisqualis (talk) 18:50, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Hey Quisqualis. Would you be able to delete that one titled "DJ Blitz (Radio Host)". I made a new one just now titled simply "DJ Blitz", and I have it marked in my user page so that I can access it. The other one I can't seem to access. Thanks Krisrobertson (talk) 19:29, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
And then also Quisqualis, was that the only problem with the article? Like, I'm pretty confident that it would pass a review process Krisrobertson (talk) 19:37, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry to create confusion! All I did was blank the page. Will do the same for User:Krisrobertson/DJ Blitz (Radio Host). Better yet, as it helps keep Wikipedia tidier, on the Teahouse, ask for the page to be deleted by an admin. I'll still blank it.--Quisqualis (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- You may be mistaken on the chances of the article passing a review. Did you read all the responses to your Teahouse post? In any case, I do admire your unending sense of optimism.--Quisqualis (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Krisrobertson. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Draft:DJ Blitz, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Krisrobertson. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Krisrobertson|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. John from Idegon (talk) 19:55, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi John,
I am not connected to the subject or station, nor receiving any kind of pay for anything, so fortunately you're mistaken. I am a new user to Wikipedia though, so my apologies for not completely understanding the site, and I thank you for your assistance. The intent here is not promotional. I'm just a regular citizen, and how this all came about was that I was told by many people that they became aware of "DJ Blitz" through commercial radio. They said they searched up "DJ Blitz" on Wikipedia to find out basic information, and said they were surprised that there was no Wikipedia article. And not even a stub. I googled him myself, and I noticed the same thing. Preceding that, it was then brought to my attention after looking at his Facebook page that he was in fact Verified (a blue check showing authenticity), which gave me the impression that he was notable enough to at least have a Wikipedia stub, as Facebook does not allow anyone who is not notable to have a blue verified check. So, I decided to simply write a factual, non-biased article with information about him and found a couple references from major, reputable, news outlets where one actually does a full television news segment on him, discussing his job, among other things to just confirm that the basic information is true. I assumed this was a pretty solid reference for a stub at least. If the stub or article is not an option, could you please create a re-direct page from DJ Blitz to the Wikipedia page of 103.1 Virgin Radio station which has information stated there about him. Here is the page I would like the DJ Blitz to be redirected to: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/CKMM-FM
All the best,
Kris
