At the Gates covers
I don't understand what you really want from deleting them, honestly. Or what is supposed to be on a "rationale." Looking at WP:NONFREE in the Images section it says as long as it follows under the legal guidelines it can be used, so what's illegal about it? they're low resolution as well, to prevent it from looking like an exact copyvio. -- Shatterzer0 17:59, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to add your thoughts to the discussion at my recent Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Angus Lepper RfA, which failed, with no consensus to promote me. However, I appreciate the concerns raised during the course of the discussion (most notably, a lack of experience, particularly in admin-heavy areas such as XfDs and policy discussions) and will attempt to address these before possibly standing again in several months time. The barnstar you bestowed is the only one I've gotten and I treasure it dearly, may I move it to my user page; I think it's time to archive my talk page anyway. Let me know. Thanks again. Also, I just looked through the history on my user page (it's unbelievable how many times it gets vandalized and someone just restores it without being asked, I guess I have a few thank yous to send out.) Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) deletion
Hello -
I'm the primary author of the "Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN)" entry that was deleted late last week. I understand why some portion of the article was tagged as a possible copyright violation, but I never heard any response to either my "discussion" comments on the article itself, or to the e-mail I sent to "permissions-en@wikimedia.org" that attempted to explain the situation.
In short, I'm an employee of the organization and the author of both the Wikipedia article and the source material on the OPLIN website from which the text in question originated. The organization is a state-government entity, and gives permission to re-use the text on Wikipedia. The e-mail I sent was from an OPLIN e-mail account, and clearly stated this permission.
If this information isn't sufficient enough to undelete the article, could you please advise me on how to avoid this problem in the future (as I'll have to recreate the article from scratch)? Should I simply add the OPLIN website as the "source" of the text? Should I attempt to reword it, even if it's pretty basic and straight-forward to begin with?
Thanks. Husenjo 16:23, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello,
I noticed one of my posts was deleted and wondered why. I am very new to the Wikipedia community and had not read many of the rules and regulations governing posting & editing. I apologize for breaking these rules as it was not my intent.
The post which I had placed in private currency, although done in poor fashion due to inexperience was not meant as advertising. The currency is called "THE UNITED STATES PRIVATE DOLLAR" and is similar to the other currencies listed on the same page and others within Wikipedia such as: Ithaca Hours & Liberty Dollar. I believe my failure to include supporting info and news articles may have prompted the deletion of the article.
Could you please suggest how this can be rectified correctly?
TUC-The United Cities Corp ( www.theunitedcities.org ) is the organization that issues this currency, does not solicit in any way, shape or form. The current cannot be purchased, there is no membership, sales, mlm or anything related to this. TUC only provides jobs and benefits.
Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated.

Oops, that was a silly mistake on my part. I'm sorry, I honestly thought there were some kinds of bot which would automatically help add the appropriate templates to that account creation page (apparently that bot only existed in my dream world!). Thanks for your message, I'll carefully note this in the future, and certainly will remind myself of using the {{ACC|c}} everytime I create new accounts. Oh, and if you spot me forgetting this thing again, don't hesitate to give me a dressing down (seriously!), so that I could be a less ignorant editor. disruptive user at New Mexico Tech
Hi, you recently blocked 129.138.20.139 for edits at unified field theory and theory of everything. The same user, who calls himself "Archetype" (was briefly currently-blocked User:Carbogen) has been editing from a number of other IP addresses at NM Tech ("New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology"), namely 129.138.2.104-105, 129.138.20.124-125, 129.138.20.134, 129.138.20.136. (Confirmed as Tech addresses via WikiScanner). He has also used the Orange broadband address 74.211.84.233, but seems to have stopped after receiving a warning (that one is easily tracable). In the last month eight different users have reverted these edits. Although User:Silly rabbit has used edit summaries that AGF, and although Archetype is almost always civil, I am now convinced this is a deliberate troll. On Talk: unified field theory he has stated his intention to edit war indefinitely and dared us to block all his Tech IP addresses. His latest edit there is effectively a (surely false) slur on the academic staff at Tech. All the edits from the IPs listed above, for the past 10 months at least, have been to these articles and related ones. Other Tech addresses (including 129.138.20.135) have in the mean time been used exclusively for valid edits, so this person probably has access to an account on a public cluster. Can I suggest blocking all the other addresses as well? Otherwise the block you made will have little effect. PaddyLeahy 09:58, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Contribution in Product Lifecycle Management
The current text in Product Lifecycle Management - Major Players is factually incorrect. Accenture is not a PLM solution provider, but a consulting firm that offers some PLM consulting among many other, not PLM-related services. There is already a reference to Accenture in the following paragraph, where it is contextually correct.
In addition, both Integware and Metafore are service providers, not consulting firms, so the current text is wrong also in that sense. This is why I changed the content back to the original version, which provided more accurate information.
Please change it back again to the more accurate, original text: "Independent PLM service providers like Metafore and Integware deliver comprehensive PLM solutions by providing unbiased information and helping companies to identify, design, implement and operate the most appropriate PLM practices, processes and technologies for their business needs."
This is not promotional, but simply a correct representation of factual information.
Please excuse if my response does not follow all formalities here, I am just interested in providing factually correct information to people interested in the subject of PLM.

changes to Jeffrey Gitomer page`
You removed my changes to the Jeffrey Gitomer page last night. I updated the page because (1) his new web site went live last night, (2) a new web site for his Sales Caffeine eZine went live last night, (3) his official site is not BuyGitomer.com its Gitomer.com - BuyGitomer.com is just a redirect, and (4) the bio makes no mention of the other company he owns, TrainOne.com. I have put my changes back. I don't regard these as SPAM - they were placed on there for the purpose of keeping the content accurate and current. I don't work for Jeffrey - but I own the company that creates and manages his web sites. In addition, the old article before I made changes used URLs to his old site which are no longer valid.

Hello,
Excuse my so bad English. My native language is only French. I would like to know if modifications of notice "Jean-François Miniac" are good for you ? Thank you very much. Best regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.199.107.33 (talk) 13:47, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
(crossposted here and the IP's user talk page)
- Hello - thanks for the message.
- The content you've added to the article helps – thanks for your quick response to the concerns I raised. An author/illustrator with several books is certainly notable, but that was not clear before you put in more material. When you've finished adding the content, tell me and I will clean up the English.
- I do have one suggestion: In the section you've titled "English press", there are three writers and news sources, and it needs the URL and the title of the news article too.
- Article now:
- "Ned Baumann, The Guardian, August 23 2007" which doesn't give enough information
- Article needs:
- 'Ned Baumann, http://guardian.co.uk/Katieisgreat, "KrakatoaKatie is Great", BBC News, August 23 2007.'
- Do not worry about your English skills, because I will clean the article's English up when you have all the information in the article. You're doing fine. :-) Thanks again – KrakatoaKatie 06:54, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Enquiry
Hello,
I'm writing in regard to The Mentis Foundation's page, which you recently deleted. I am the representative of the foundation that put together the page. It was my understanding that all of Wikipedia's requirements were met in its construction, but as was indicated in the Deletion Log, CSD a7, was cited as the reason for it removal. I sincerely thought that the significance of the fund was implied, though never stated explicitly, in the content given. It would be greatly appreciated if you could offer some guidance in terms of helping us pull the article in conformity to Wikipedia's rules. We are a young non-profit (only weeks old), but are very eager to have the public able to find objective information about us via Wikipedia.

Misery (band)
It appears to me that you decided to terminate this article as the judge, but I'm no expert on WP, so disregard the following if I'm wrong. What was accomplished by this deletion? Looking at the big picture, was WP improved by what you did? What problem was solved?
Where is this Giggy that nominated this article? They seem to be missing and their page blanked. As far as I know this person never answered my question of what motivated them to nominate it for deletion? The consensus you mentioned has a good chance of being nonsense. Giggy's vote doesn't count, so you have 2 deletes, 2 maybes, and 2 keeps. And what do these 2 deleters care about the article anyway? Some people don't feel a need to delete other people's work that is valuable and serves a useful purpose.
There are rules of notability that were referenced in the discussion of this. But those rules did not serve WP well is this case. WP has given up this traffic, to prove what?
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Misery_%28band%29 Nanabozho 02:57, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I've got both you and Giggy not answering my questions, and me learning that you don't care to. You remarked on my user page that the count was 5 for deletion and 2 against. If Giggy (who didn't leave, and only had a name change) had a point with their nomination, and was objective, you'd think they'd not vote. So if you were counting them in your 5, that makes it 4. You counted the 2 maybes as in favor of deletion. If one was cautious, they wouldn't count a maybe as a for. It seems you're speaking for the 2 maybes to make your case, and that's not objective. Since we can't speak for Giggy, and we can only surmise that they wouldn't vote as a way to prove their objectivity, (in fact, they did not formally vote) that vote is not counted either. It's 2 to 2, the motion fails. Yes, I realize there may have been one other vote, but that one wasn't formalized and didn't say "Delete", but rather said "comment", and again, we are not speaking for them. And since you did not not formally vote, perhaps concerned about your objectivity, I can't see where you get the 5 in favor, which is really 4, which is really 2. When Wales said be bold, I don't think he meant this.
Now there's the, "this article used to be about the New York not the Minneapolis band called Misery issue." Why does it matter? The article improved once this was discovered, didn't it? Since I can't find the WP article any more, I can't really see a point here. Is it that, the band from Minneapolis that I can find on the internet was the subject your article, and that the band from New York that I can't find, was for awhile, but that got fixed? I saw that you fully protected the talk page on Jeff Garlin's article. This sort of takes away the only avenue for actually discussing constructive changes, even though at the same time it stops destructive changes too. Maybe instead you could semi-protect it? Or at least cause the protection to lapse sometime before September 25?
Anyways, I just wanted to add to the talk page the following:
- for the admins who have protected the page, here are a few sources for Garlin's bio:
Sorry to bother you here... --sachin 03:44, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, but no, at least for a while. The talk page was already semi-protected by EVula when I saw it should be extended – vandalism simply moved from the fully-protected article to the semi-protected talk page, so full protection is appropriate for at least the next week, longer if the episode is rerun more than its usual rebroadcasts the next day and evening.
- If another admin wishes to lower the protection levels later this week or shorten their duration, I have no objection. The attempts should settle down after the day-after repeats are done sometime early Wednesday morning, but we'll have to watch the Daily Show's vacation reruns for a while. KrakatoaKatie 03:55, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just undid that and came here to drop you a line when I saw this... there are too many legitimate uses for the talk page, especially with the article fully protected. I've added a note to the talk page warning that anyone who edits there with ill will won't be editing much longer; policing the hell out of the page is a better option than completely cutting it off. close on Moshe Weinberger
You may want to rethink the logic on that close. some of the supporters as well as objectors to that article are equally self-declared Jews. There may well be reason to conclude to delete for lack of sourcing, but that all the Jews agree is not a good reason even if they all did agree. .DGG (talk) 03:59, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Article Deletion - Assist-2-Sell
I appreciate your desire to keep blatantly promotional articles off of Wikipedia. I looked at other companies (Redfin, RealLiving, RE/MAX) who have pages on Wikipedia and modeled my entry after them. Can you tell me what was promotional about my article that is not present in these other articles? I did review the guidelines and thought I had abided by your criteria by presenting straight facts. I noticed that the RealLiving article, in particular, was created by a RealLiving employee. What do I need to do to get our company included -- as a factual player in the real estate industry and not as an advertisment for our services? Hi KrakatoaKatie! Good to see you around also. I suppose MfD is the proper way to go for consensus on questionable user pages. Hi Katie-- I've looked around in the FAQ but I can't find an answer to this question. Once an article has been flagged for deletion, how long does it take before that page actually gets removed from wikipedia? I'm asking in regards to Girl-wonder.org. This page is troublesome; it was created by a sockpuppet using the name of one of the girl-wonder.org mods (User:L. Penn) in order to have a platform to perpetuate some personal attacks against the site founder (as listed in the "controversies" section.) Does the article have to be deleted by a mod or admin, or can anyone delete it once it's been deemed to be not officially noteworthy? -- 66.80.40.210, 11:38, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message – I've been on a short break, and I didn't know it had been recreated. I took a look at the AFD discussion and both versions of the piece, the recreated one and the last version of the one that was deleted. They are almost identical, except for a couple of format changes. Only admins can delete articles, and I deleted this article under WP:CSD#G4, as recreation of deleted material. Thanks again for letting me know – KrakatoaKatie 12:23, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Please help me understand...
Hi. I recently wrote a page for a drummer named Marc Slutsky. It has been deleted and redirected to his old band Splender. You were involved in the decision for this.
I've read the discussion but do not understand the reasoning. There are SEVERAL other drummers on this site who have pages and they are not as well known as Mr. Slutsky.
For example, on the Splender page, (the one he is REDIRECTED to) there is a link the Gin Blossoms. On their page, a member of their band, also a drummer, has a link to his OWN page. This drummer, Chris McCann, has 2 sentences on his page...
"Chris McCann was the original drummer for the alternative rock band Gin Blossoms when the group was formed in 1987, He was replaced by Dan Henzerling the next year, before the release of the group's first album."
He was replaced! How could this drummer be listed and Mr. Slutsky gets a deletion notice? I had links up to his current activity...He now plays with Alexa Ray Joel (Billy Joel's daughter) who ALSO has a page on Wikipedia.
Mr. Slutsky has also toured with Gaven DeGraw.
Please help me understand why he is not worthy of at least 2 sentences on your site.
Thank You.

IWA
Hi KrakatoaKatie, I created a new article about the International Water Association. As I am new to Wikipedia I used e.g. the entry for the IUCN as an example. Now I saw, that you have aggregated the article pretty much, which in my opinion makes it look quiet ugly. Ok, that's not really the point I know, but as I am new here and I am willing to learn, I'd like to ask you for the reason of the changes. There's also another question I have. There is this message "This article needs additional references or sources..." and I searched the help pages but did not really find something that would fit with me. Which other sources could I use instead of the IWA website? Can you please give me a hint? Thanks --Haensen 07:45, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
I was about to prod that you beat me to it oh well it's a WP:COI as well so I added that to the prod to. Whispering 13:54, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
You recently closed this debate as "delete", but while I have no special interest in the article or its subject, I think it deserves another look. I appreciate that AfD isn't a vote, but the 4-3 comments in favour of deletion suggests only a slim consensus at best. In addition, the nom and two of the other delete comments were made before the article received a complete rewrite (in English & with sources) by user CaliforniaAliBaba. I would appreciate it if you could have another look, though I will happily accept your final decision. Regards. PC78 07:27, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Avruch Always Needs... Help
I notice that on my last AfD (The Mentis Foundation) you corrected whatever formatting problem kept the AfD from being listed correctly. Can you fix the AfD for VANK too and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! Avruch 16:28, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
One other thing, if you are feeling in a giving mood! I tried to replicate your status indicator using the switcher script, but I can't seem to work it out. I've got User:Avruch/Status and User:Avruch/StatusTemplate setup and the other code I needed to make the buttons appear, but somehow I get all the boxes when I switch a status instead of one. Any thoughts? Whenever you have a moment, I appreciate it! Thanks, Avruch 20:26, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Reshade deletion
Hello, I am sorry to have troubled you with my unseasonable article about Reshade. I would like however to write an article about this topic. I know that you are very busy, but could you please take a look at the new Reshade article that i have started and if you would be so kind as to tell me if it's a good start so i can continue with this approach i would be ever so grateful. Sorry again for the trouble, Alex.
P.S. : If you don't have time to spare, fell free to ignore this message :). Best regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reshader (talk • contribs) 08:16, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
