License tagging for Image:IMG 0612.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:IMG 0612.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:07, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Earl Young (architect), by Escape Orbit (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Earl Young (architect) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Earl Young (architect), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:22, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tree well

[edit]

I saw your question on the New User Help page asking about your edit to the Tree well article. If you look at the article's history page, by going to the article and clicking on the "history" tab, you can see that the portion you are asking about was removed in February, and the user explained the reason for removal.

Normally, I would recommend discussing it on the user's talk page, or the article's talk page. But in this case, the change was made from an anonymous IP address, so I doubt you will get a reply.

If you still feel this reference belongs in the article, you can add it to a new "external links" section, not the reference section, as that is for numbered footnotes coming from specific places in the article itself. Create a new heading near the bottom like this:

==External links==

To see how to format your link, look at WP:LINKS#How to link. You may want to read the entire article, as it has recommendations on what should be linked at WP. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 00:56, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Earl Young (architect) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Lilaac (talk) 22:11, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
