Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Greenland Township, Washington County, Arkansas, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 16:25, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See: [1] @Moneytrees -- another instance of copyvio, I'm seeing quite a few in this contribs history. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Uttrang Kaur Khalsa, without citing a reliable source. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Juan Alfonso de la Cerda, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Gibraltar. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello JaggedHamster,
So even if I add changes in my own words with citation from the source, it's not ok? I understand the fact that it might not be a reliable source adding information from blogs and such. Kotyudkupaler5 (talk) 11:05, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
Some of your edits have directly copied text from sources, which isn't ok, please see Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. With regards to adding some changes in your own words, this also generally isn't ok, please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing JaggedHamster (talk) 11:40, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello JaggedHamster,
Thanks for the info. I think I understand now. Kotyudkupaler5 (talk) 11:53, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Loan Market Association, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. —Wasell(T) 🌻🇺🇦 13:51, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Wasell,
Thanks for the update. Will follow the guidelines. Kotyudkupaler5 (talk) 13:53, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more careful

[edit]

This edit to Debora Moore completely changed the meaning of the content. The source describes Moore as "the first African American, and the first woman" to be in residence at Abate Zanetti. That means what it says: the first African American of any gender AND the first woman of any ethnicity to do that. You changed it to "the first African American woman", which would be a different (and rather lesser) achievement. Please be more careful. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 12:28, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Struway2,
Thanks for the heads-up. Will be more careful going forward. Kotyudkupaler5 (talk) 12:34, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
