Making a wiki

[edit]

You need to download the software, they are listed at this page. S.G.(GH) ping! 06:02, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I am afraid that the language gap is too great, I do not understand what you are asking. I suggest going to a Wikipedia in your first language and asking there. S.G.(GH) ping! 21:48, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What is your nationality? I can direct you to a Wiki in your language. If you want to change the options on the left you need to edit your WP:MONOBOOK but there is no way with this language gap that I can explain how. S.G.(GH) ping! 16:36, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:InuYasha are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 13:11, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use talk pages such as Talk:InuYasha for general discussion of the topic. They are for discussion related to improving the article. They are not to be used as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See here for more information. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 22:18, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Recent MediaWiki requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as My Wiki Rules, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

MfD nomination of User:KnuxD/My Wiki Rules

[edit]

User:KnuxD/My Wiki Rules, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:KnuxD/My Wiki Rules and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:KnuxD/My Wiki Rules during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:User's Photo Avatar KnuxD.MIME.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 13:49, 1 August 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:49, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tips on editing...

[edit]

I would recommend first going through the tutorial to get an idea of what it means to contribute to Wikipedia. I can also see that English is probably not your first language, so you should first try contributing to the Wikipedia in your native language to get a better feel for how the site works. Should you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask. Regards, Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 22:25, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Userpages

[edit]

The point is, you are young. You are too young to be telling the world all about yourself. You do not know who might be reading Wikipedia userpages.

Our policy is that when people who are too young start telling the world too much about themselves, we delete those pages for their own protection. When you are older, you can talk about yourself in more detail (if you still want to). The current version that just says "I'm KnuxD" is fine.

I apologize for having made you upset. DS (talk) 12:39, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, let's see. While you are still young, it is a good idea to avoid talking about your age. Also, it is a good idea to avoid details that might let someone figure out who you are in the real world. You can say you live in Brazil, you can say what state you live in, and if it is a very big city (Sao Paolo? Rio de Janeiro?) you can tell us that too. But telling us the name of your school would be a bad idea. You can say you have brothers and sisters, but do not say their names either. (I know that you did not do all the things I am warning about; this is just a general explanation.)

What does any of this mean?????
