Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Global Hope Network International, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://globalhopenetwork.org/about/our-mission.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. A tag has been placed on Global Hope Network International, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:22, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page should not be speedy deleted because there is no copyright infringement, the sentences have been modified so as not to state word for word what is on GHNI's website. The sentences do paraphrase what is on the website; however, since this is an article about GHNI they shouldn't be altered too much so as to create falsities about the organization. In addition, the GHNI website is being referenced/cited, which thereby indicates that the information is coming from the website. This is giving credit to the website which would negate any copyright infringement, if there was any (which there is not). Further, there is other content on the page, rather than just the "mission" section, such as information on programs GHNI is hosting and, how it was created, and information regarding TCD. This is all important informations that can very easily stand alone without the mission statement.

It still contitutes Close paraphrasing, which is still problematic. While some non offending material gas been added, there is far too much material that is a close paraphrase of the original. If there were just a paragraph, I'd remove it, but I found big sections. Please start over and do not simply modify the original wording, write it in your own words.

I've found that if I copy and paste the material, and try to rewrite it, that it still ends up too close to the original. A better approach is to find more than one source (always desirable), then, put them aside, and write about the subject in one's own words. After writing, return to the original text, and determine whether it is too close (if you have a better memory than I do), or if some points would be better made by an explicit quote and attribution, with the quote suitably short.--SPhilbrickT 17:14, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
