Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Kmarschhausen, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Proposed deletion of Ixiptla

[edit]

The article Ixiptla has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, and so no way to determine whether this is an actual Aztec concept. Not enough information to be encyclopedic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Page moved

[edit]

I've moved the page to User:Kmarschhausen/Ixiptla so you can work on improving the draft. Offhand the major issue was that the page was unsourced, something that can be fixed by showing where this topic has been covered in academic works, newspaper articles, or other reliable sources. You might also want to expand it with some of the content in the article Human sacrifice in Aztec culture, where it's covered here.

Something to take into consideration when expanding the draft is that you may need to explain some concepts for the reader, such as animacy. You don't need to make a huge section for this, rather just think of a way that the sentence could be re-written to make the concept clearer to the average person.
