If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

Rounding

[edit]

You see to be having some difficulty with rounding (e.g., [1], [2]). What you are doing is truncating, merely dropping any digits after a given point. Rounding aims to give a better idea of what is being removed by either simply dropping the extra digits or -- if the result is closer to the original number -- dropping the extra digits and upping the last remaining digit.

For example, truncating (what you were doing) would show $104,500,000 and $104,599,999 as $104.5 million. Rounding (which Wikipedia prefers, per WP:LARGENUM) would show $104,500,000 as $104.5 million but $104,599,999 as $104.6 million. - SummerPhDv2.0 02:04, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Space Jam: A New Legacy. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. isento (talk) 17:23, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
