June 2013

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Forest Hills, Pennsylvania has been reverted.
Your edit here to Forest Hills, Pennsylvania was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://foresthillspool.webs.com/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:06, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change in your user rights

[edit]

Your Wikipedia account was previously granted a user right called "course instructor" by the Wiki Education Foundation. That right enabled you to create a course page through the EducationProgram MediaWiki extension. Starting in fall 2015, the Wiki Education Foundation has discontinued its use of this extension. Going forward, users should create course pages through the Wiki Education Foundation website. That application is more user-friendly, and any content is automatically mirrored to Wikipedia. To prevent confusion, we'll be removing your "course instructor" user right, as it is not needed with the new system. This is simply a notification of the technical change to your account. No action is needed from you at this time.

If you plan on teaching with Wikipedia for the fall 2015 term, please email me (helaine@wikiedu.org) for instructions how to create your next course page using our new system. --Helaine (Wiki Ed) (talk), sent by MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:34, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ready for review before going to main space

[edit]

User:Barbara (WVS)/sandbox/Willie Has Gone To War is ready for your review and comments. Obviously, it is a draft at this point, but completed enough to pass review by new page patrollers. If you can come up with a 'hook' to go along with this article which would create overwheming curiousity in the minds of those visiting the main page of wikipedia, I will move the new article to main space and then nominate it for the "...Did you know" section (DYK). I still have to fill out the references completely because bare urls are sometimes do not look as good as the other detailed references. Best Regards,

Barbara (WVS) (talk) 12:31, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on WikiEd dashboard

[edit]

I've completed my 'training' and my dashboard page looks okay. I can't seem to change the assignments. I erroneously listed Polio virus s the article I am 'assigned' when it should be Polio vaccine. It doesn't look like I can change my assignments, i.e., identify the articles on which I am working. Also, the dashboard does not include the detailed edit summaries that I include on my user contributions page. You get more info from my editing history than you do via the dashboard. Best Regards,

New article:Morrison Foster

[edit]

There is so much information about Morrison in all the content and references regarding his brother, creating an article about Morrison hasn't taken much effort, though at this point it is only a stub. Best Regards,

This is how I responded

[edit]

I left the following message on the talk page of the article and I posted the following message on the talk pages of the two editors who expressed an interest in moving the Archives article:

This article has been renamed to its more descriptive and accurate title. You will find it now if you do a search. The references also contain the name of the archives and the references describe the distinction between the Archives and the rest of the Pitt library system. The secondary sources specifically mention this part of the library as a separate entity. An article for the University of Pittsburgh Library System will be drafted, then this article may be able to be merged with this future article about the libraries at Pitt, but until then, news coverage supports the treatment of this topic separately from the rest of the Library system. Please retain this article under its current and correct name. Best Regards,:Barbara (WVS) (talk) 20:56, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Conflict of Interest notice to place on talk page

[edit]

Good news! Librarians are given a good bit of freedom in editing and there should be no problem with corrections you want to make to any article. I have written a sample notice for you below. You can cut and paste it to the archives article talk page.

COI disclosure

[edit]

I am employed by the University of Pittsburgh as a librarian. I do not get paid to edit content on Wikipedia and it is not part of my job description. I am collaborating with User:Barbara (WVS) a visiting scholar with the University of Pittsburgh. I intend to oversee her edits and article creation and check them for accuracy. I believe that I will be able to do so without creating a conflict of interest and I intend to be neutral and unbiased in this capacity.

Very, very rough draft

here is where you will find the incredibly rough draft of the ULS. Best Regards, Barbara (WVS) (talk) 02:55, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Very, very rough draft about carnegie's telegram to Frick

[edit]

Here is a draft I started on the telegram. I surely believe the telegram is a notable subject, worthy of an article all on its own. I'm having trouble finding online sources but will be taking out some books on the subject.
