Re: The Orange Box review

[edit]

Well, someone else took it out again before I saw your message (probably for the reasons I'm about to give, but a rather unnecessary move on that editor's part), but from what is in the article history it ideally needs to include more than just the score. In using a review, the focus should be on the specifics of the review rather than simply the score. Merge it nicely into the section by saying what the review commends about the game, any criticisms they may have (if there are any of these its most helpful to include them otherwise we've just got a straight non-neutral fan-driven praise section), and their overall impression of the game (add the score as part of this). This can be done in a couple of sentences: not much, but enough to get the jist along while not giving undue weight in comparison to the other sites. For best effect, try to pick a point made in the review that contrasts with another one in the reception section and word it in after that review: for instance, if you look at Team Fortress 2's reception section, one review criticises the game for removing the class-specific grenades, while the next sentence opens with another reviewer giving praise to the removal. I hope this helps. If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask! -- Sabre (talk) 23:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's good, it gives sufficient detail of the review to stay. There's no reason to take it out now, if it is I'll add it back. I've fixed the format of the references for you, so it should be fine. -- Sabre (talk) 21:00, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
