Iceland-Serbia

[edit]

I would like to request that the article Iceland–Serbia relations (which you deleted and is currently an redirect) gets undeleted on the grounds that Iceland and Serbia have an free trade agreement through EFTA (see http://www.efta.int/free-trade/free-trade-agreements/serbia ).--Snaevar (talk) 22:09, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if that's sufficient; you can propose it at WP:DRV to see if there's consensus to allow recreation. -- King of 03:41, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

02:30, 21 February 2016 King of Hearts (talk | contribs) deleted page Dream Factory Foundation (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dream Factory Foundation closed as delete)[edit source] Hi- I would like to add the page for Dream Factory Foundation. It was deleted based on the understanding that there were not enough notable sources. Since then the works of the foundation were noted in a number of independent sources including: 1. South African Government - http://www.gov.za/speeches/second-annual-dsd-youth-excellence-awards-addressed-mec-fritz-21-jun-2016-0000 2. TFG Club - Foschini Group - http://www.tfgclub.co.za/2015/02/dare-dream/ 3. The Newspaper (Stories that are changing lives) - http://www.thenewspaper.co.za/western-cape-department-of-social-development-ministerial-youth-excellence-awards/ 4. SABC 2 - National broadcaster in South Africa - http://www.hn9.co.za/blogs/tags/dream%20factory 5. My Hands and Heart - http://www.myhandsandheart.org/opp/bmbDUxbgQ7mEnDKSL_rSJw/info 6. http://habitat.org.za/message-of-hope-pelican-park-community-talent-day/ For me this is a proud story of how young black South Africans are making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged. It is a story of defiance in a country overwhelmed by negativity.

I have no doubt in my mind that we world needs such stories and platforms like Wikipedia, whose focus is factual information, should allow entities such as Dream Factory Foundation. Please let me know if this is sufficient to allow the page on Wikipedia. Regards L Nyere — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lnyere (talk • contribs) 13:05, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

The guideline states that there must be "significant coverage in reliable sources." Unfortunately, each of the links you listed mentions the subject only once or a few times, so it is insufficient. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 01:47, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi King of ♥ ♦ ♣- Please check this radio interview http://iono.fm/e/317163. i am sure this is independent and done by one of the national radio station.

i am sure this covers the notability requirements.

i would also like to know if there is someone else who should look at these links and provide independent advice?

regards, L Nyere

Interviews are by definition not independent, because they are half produced by the subject. If you still disagree, you may raise an appeal at WP:DRV. -- King of 02:42, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi King of ♥ ♦ ♣- Following our previous conversations around notability requirements of Dream Factory Foundation, a number of things have happened that improved the situation. First, Dream Factory Foundation was recognised by Google for its work in Africa. See this link for the global recipient of the Google Rise award in 2016 (https://www.google.com/edu/resources/programs/google-rise-awards/#!rise-recipients). Second, the founder of Dream Factory Foundation was recognised for her Philanthropy in Education in 2016, receiving the Inyathelo Award (http://www.inyathelo.org.za/philanthropy-awardees/item/lusanda-gwayi.html) Third, I have the following mentions of the same foundation recently: http://www.teachamantofish.org.uk/pan-african-awards-judges-scoresheet?id=164&s=0 http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/Local/City-Vision/chance-to-win-us-scholarship-20170208

My desire is to see this organisation being appreciated for the great work that it is doing. I would appreciate your careful consideration on the notability requirements.

I look forward to your view on listing Dream Factory Foundation on Wikipedia.

Thank you, L Nyere

Abuse filters

[edit]

Hi, because of an irritating AbuseFilter bug, we (Kaldari, MusikAnimal and I) are going to do an update next week that will affect some of your filters. We hope we'll fix all affected filters ourselves, but we're of course grateful if you want to help us. The issue is explained here; the current plan is here. In any case, we wanted you to be aware what's happening, and you're very welcome to help out of course. I'm sending you an email with more details. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 12:08, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
