congratulations

[edit]

I'd like to congratulate you Kilroy on your use of edit summaries. Often many new users neglect to do this and it really helps a lot when it is done as a habit. Did you know you can even set up your preferences to remind you if you do an edit without putting in a summary? (just in case you're interested.)

I can appreciate your resistance to the naming convention for Chilean settlements, but, as you know, nobody can obligate you to use it if you don't want to.

You mention that you feel it might be discrimatory against Chile. I look at it another way: I believe it helps increase outsiders awareness of Chile, because the more often they are reminded that Chile exists as a country, the more "important" it becomes in their thinking.

I gather you are a Chilean. As such, you always want to keep in mind that Wikipedia is not written for Chileans or even spanish speaking people. It is here to help educate English speaking people and that means that we have to be careful in using Chilean ideas which might not be understood, and from an editor's viewpoint not be upset if some English oriented viewpoint doesn't work the same way in Chile.

Keep up the good work. --JAXHERE | Talk 17:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fully understand your arguments, at that's my main purpose of contributing to Wikipedia, letting foreigners know more about my birth place. I'd also like to know which way can I let Wikipedia articles feed into Google Earth layer's, is it enough to add the appropriate coordinate Google Bot visits the article? Kilroytech 18:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I can't answer your question, maybe someone at the Village pump might be able to help. (I've responded to your other question on my talk page there). --JAXHERE | Talk 15:09, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mount Tarn

[edit]

Podrías poner en español la siguiente frase: "Tarn helped the hidrographic studies in the area, by collection flora and fauna species." Jespinos 18:06, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias nuevamente.- Kilroytech 19:29, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm kind of busy at present. Saludos ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 21:33, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with AlexBot searching Chile results

[edit]

Settlement naming conventions

[edit]

Hello there. I have posted a naming conventions proposal for Chilean settlements. I would like to know your opinion. Thanks! ☆ CieloEstrellado 05:55, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As it was not clear what most people support, I have opened a poll at Wikipedia talk:Chile-related regional notice board#settlement article naming poll. Please express your opinion there as it is important to have support of most people who will be affected. --Scott Davis Talk 13:04, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revision request: Valdivia, Chile

[edit]
In the Valdivia, Chile article i feel that some information is unneserarily repeated becuse Im not sure in whitch section it should be. I dont mean that all informetion can only be said once, I just want to make the article nice to read and keep everything on its topic. Maybe some of the sections of the article is unnesesary. I would like to have you opinion about:
  • The economy section vs the last part of recent history - in whitch section should the recent history of the economy be?
  • The economy section vs the last part of Independence and growt - in whitch section should tourism be?
  • Prehispanic times vs Independe and growth - a cite of Charles Darwin is repeated because it is important to contrast his description of the landskape with early Spaniars one, but in whicht section should this comparison be made?
  • Independence and growt vs German influences vs Education - Information about the German school apears in each of these sections.
  • Independence and growt vs German influences - where goes the limit between culture and history, the things that are said in the history section could be said under German influnces and viceversa.
  • Government and politics vs Ecological action - The CELCO case is named in both parts.
  • Government and politics vs Culture vs Great Chilean Earthquake and Valdivia in Los Lagos Region - Where should the information about the creation of Los Ríos Region be placed? Dentren | Talk 09:09, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
