DYK for Gira Sarabhai
[edit]On 30 April 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Gira Sarabhai, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Gira Sarabhai and her brother Gautam were crucial in the formation of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Gira Sarabhai. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Gira Sarabhai), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Nelly Sethna and NID Archives
[edit]Hello Kill joyarchivist! Thanks for adding Nelly Sethna and Nina Sabnani to the NID page. I'd created Sethna's page and edited Sabnani's page (by moving it to main space) during the Art+Feminism campaign organized by The Heritage Lab in March 2022. Your contributions made to the page of Gira Sarabhai and Helena Perheentupa last year were quite useful for me to create Sethna's page this time around. In case you have Sethna's profile image or any information about her early life and death date, please feel free to add. Also, I believe that you and your team had worked on creating pages for Women in Design last year. If you need any help on creating more pages related to people of NID, let me know about it. I'd be more than happy to help. :) I have the animators Binita Desai and RL Mistry on my list already. DesiBoy101 (talk) 18:11, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @DesiBoy101, thanks a lot for the making the two pages, it was pleasant and a welcome surprise for us :) I am not so sure about visuals of Sethna as of now, but will try and find. Yes, we had attempted to create some pages last year, for the very some time and we had a lot of help too from some wonderful wiki editors. Yes, really appreciate you offering to help, I will let you know as soon as we plan our next edit-a-thon. During the edit-a-thon, I will upload a photograph of Binita Desai and will try and identify more folks to write about. Looking forward :) Kill joyarchivist (talk) 11:33, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- That sounds great! Do let me know about it. :) DesiBoy101 (talk) 11:46, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @DesiBoy101,the next event is happening in August! Launching posters tomorrow :) Kill joyarchivist (talk) 19:09, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @DesiBoy101, sharing the poster and formally inviting you. Could you please help us with spreading the word here?
- Or could you direct me as to how I can do it? Kill joyarchivist (talk) 13:12, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Kill joyarchivist! Thanks for sharing the poster and the formal invite. Eagerly looking forward to the edit-a-thon! :) Although, I'm not sure how to spread the word in here. Bringing you in the conversation @Ipigott - What would be a good way to share this with the Women in Red community and other interested editors on Wiki? Do let us know. Renee Doring moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Renee Doring, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. PRAXIDICAE🌈 13:24, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for flagging this. The news sources that have been used for Renee's bio are fairly common and accepted sources of information. Also reports and catalogues that are housed within the NID Archives have been used as sources too. Best Kill joyarchivist (talk) 14:52, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @DesiBoy101 what do you suggest we do according to what has been suggested by @Praxidicae. Kill joyarchivist (talk) 14:53, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Moved again to Draft space. Please let an WP:AfC reviewer determine readiness for mainspace. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:37, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Deepfriedokra alright, thanks a lot. Kill joyarchivist (talk) 05:32, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

August 2022
[edit]Your recent editing history at Renee Doring shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. PRAXIDICAE🌈 15:24, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae Many thanks for flagging this and for all your suggestions and advice. These are quite helpful, I didn't know what an edit war was. Best Kill joyarchivist (talk) 15:45, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Renee Doring has a new comment
[edit]- Hi @Hoary, thank you for your comment. Renee is alive but no longer associated or practicing with the institute she was once affiliated with. Regarding the spellings, the German way of writing wasn't followed in the papers I have access to in the archives. It is just Renee Doring, however on the German Wikipedia Renee's father the sculptor [1]Hans Karl Doring has the surname written as Döring. Best, Kill joyarchivist (talk) 20:53, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
