Your recent edits
[edit]Hi, I reverted some of your recent edits as they appeared promotional. Please don't just copy text from an organization's website; this is unlikely to be neutral, and may also constitute a copyright violation. Please let me know if you think I've made a mistake. Thanks, --Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 12:22, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
- The content from the website is copyrighted, and using it is a copyright violation. Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country that grants somebody who creates something original exclusive rights to its use and distribution. These rights are not absolute, but do cover copying a large amount, as somebody has done on this article. Ironically, the article avoided being speedy deleted as a result of my removal of this text. Thanks and feel free to ask if you have any questions, Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 15:53, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Mean as custard (talk) 10:50, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on BRAC University. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 23:24, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
