Ahsan Ansari

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Ahsan Ansari, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. - Fordan (talk) 12:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Ahsan Ansari

[edit]

Ahsan Ansari, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Ahsan Ansari satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahsan Ansari and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Ahsan Ansari during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. - Fordan (talk) 02:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message on my talk page; your message did reach me. The message I left above is basically to let you know I nominated the article to go through the "Articles for Deletion" process. This is a process (documented at WP:AFD) which usually takes about 5 days and tries to form a consensus as to whether an article should remain in Wikipedia or not. The debate regarding your page is being held at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahsan Ansari, and your contribution to the debate there is encouraged. You may first want to read through the WP:AFD article about the process as well as WP:BIO (the notability requirements for Biographies), and possibly WP:ATA, an essay on arguments that don't generally help in deletion debates.
The reason I nominated it is a lack of sources demonstrating notability. Your addition of the press is definitely a move in the right direction, but most of them only mention Ahsan Ansari in passing, which could be considered "trivial" by the WP:BIO standards. You may want to point out in the deletion debate that you've added additional press coverage, and see if you can track down the BBC World coverage... Sources don't need to be online or in English, but that does make it a lot easier for verification to occur. - Fordan (talk) 16:49, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jmi logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jmi logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

October 2009

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to 2008 Mumbai attacks. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. SBC-YPR (talk) 12:55, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: alternative viewpoints

[edit]

Alternative viewpoints are fine as long as they come from a reliable source, and are not fringe theories. While India Today might be fine as a source, what you added to the article would certainly constitute advertising. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 08:10, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Muslims

[edit]

First, if you feel any of the members don't deserve a place there, you can replace them with someone nobody would contest, for eg. AR Rahman, or say Azharuddin, Pataudi etc.. people who have achieved the highest levels of excellence in their fields. But avoid blanking the whole thing. Second try always to be constructive on wiki. There might be things not really true or given undue weightage like the Tipu Christian conflict on that page itself. When you see something like that, do some study on the subject, cite good academic sources and try to counter it. Third, those two BJP ministers were Muslim regardless of their credentials, and they were ministers at a central cabinet level. Their pictures can be removed and replaced by any muslim politician who has risen to better heights. Probably Hamid Ansari, Kalam, Zakir Hussain, Maulana Azad etc.NMKuttiady (talk) 02:27, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just in case you haven't noticed. I've replaced the pictures on the page. BTW R U Zafarul Islam Khan? 78.101.191.53 (talk) 19:04, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't edit content like you did today. Write it in a wiki style, not with questions as though it were a blog. Check out the wiki manual of style. Follow the rules while editing articles and help present things better.NMKuttiady (talk) 19:28, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Fences&Windows 23:53, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
